my name is afreen,
i m from arts stream n my subjects r political science, history, psychology n economics...amongst which i just like 2 read books of psychology but i just love english subject.....its my favourate...n i m very good at it 2....!
so kindly suggest me a career option which relates 2 my subjects of interests...as i m really in scoop about what shall i do after 12th....
i just need some suggestions 4 my further caREER COURSE from u all.......

look dear Afreen, you can make a right decision by yourself but as a support i can suggest you that if you are just 12th pass out then carry on further studies in same subjects and prepare for IAS services as you sound pretty confident about the grasp of your's on various subjects.. so i think it will be better if you opt my suggestion and try for it and i am quite sure that by the way you are confident abbout your talents you will make it..

you can join some coaching institute for English and train students there in improving there English,

i would advice you to go for an graduation degree in literature,
after that you can also go for post graduation in literature and then join any college as professor in English,as there is really demand for good English professors you can get job very easily,

hi dear, there are manny option , if you are good in english..........I think you need to sign up to take an interest test at your local college that will help you figure that out. In the meantime you might try a few different part time jobs such as teachers aid, vet assistant, you get the picture.

The best option after your arts stream ie 11th and 12th you can do your BA course. Which is really good.

It will help you to get a post of a Teacher or In some offices or in BPO

Hi there. You've asked an interesting question that most of the people ask. Well, there are many options for you if you are looking to build your career in English. However, I think you should finish your graduation first. This is because being an honours graduate would keep many options open for you. It would be great if you take your academic career even further upto MA in english. Coming back to your question regarding various career options for you in english, there are many like teaching,working as a translator, doing MBA after graduation or you can even work as a freelance writer. However, to become a lecturer or a professor, which is a high-salaried job, you would need to have a doctorate degree or PhD in english. I certainly wish you well in your career and a bright future. Hey its good to have so much confidence.
According to me please go for gradution in your subjects and after that join Post graduation.
Because mastery in your interested subjects leads you towards your goal.
After graduation you can also try for Civil services exam.
You will definetlyt get good job after your PG.

Afreen U have to pursue your graduation so u must make English, Psycho, and economics as your graduation subjects for u can opt either for psycho or english as per your chioce

As far as career option is concerned you can join go far the academics which most people opt for.
Since you are honours you can also apply for bank officers post which asks for any language.
In general you can appear for all other exams which asks graduation as minimum qualification

I am so glad that there are young people these days who want to take up English Hons for the love of literature and not because it's the safe subject for girls or some other twisted logic. To begin with, let me tell you that Literature is NOT a narrow topic comprising of only novels and poems. In fact, anything that's written and/ or documented qualifies for Literature. By this I mean slogans on hoardings, newspaper editorials, song lyrics...anything. Just like that then, so many avenues are open to you as a student of Literature. You can be a journalist, a film/music/book/drama critic, an editor, a content writer, an analyst, an advertisement writer/director, an activist, a social worker, a civil service officer, a teacher,a professor, an academic, a columnist, an event manager, a writer, a linguist, a phonologist etc. When you read Literature you are automatically choosing to create and alternative to the capitalist society. You will read a lot of things that will add depth to your personality. This makes you a very popular candidate for a lot of jobs. Also, taking up English Literature opens up a lot of options for your post graduation if you don't wish to continue with English. You may choose to do MA in Anthropology, Media, Women's Studies etc. Or you may choose to pursue an MBA ( But of course you'll have to brush up on the Math!). If you apply abroad for your MA, you will have a lot more specialised options than you have in India and you won't even have to give TOEFL or IELTS in most colleges. If you take up Literature, you will by default have to study the History, Geography, Philosophy and Psychology behind every piece that you read. So be prepared to work very hard. English Literature should never be taken just for the heck of it. If one does do that they will be in deep waters. Love it, respect it and it will do you good.

hey, i am aakanksha, i just gave my 12th exams n now im really worried for my future. its not that i think i will not become anything. its just that im confused. in 12th , my subjects were economics, history,geography, english n hindi. i like english very much n i love reading histoy. my dad says i should go for civil services as it is a very good and reputed job n pays more and i am quite okay with that. but i want to have other option as a stand by too. i dont want to think negative. but its not necessary that i will be an ias for sure. i believe myself, but im also thinking of archaeology as i like reading history books a lot. so my question is that whether i should just focus on becoming ias only or its okay to think about other career options as well. and can u suggest me some other good options? n yeah one more thinking about me, i love talking. which i guess u people may already know by now!:p
