Re: What are the career options for me after graduation? I am a student of B.A English Honors
If you want government jobs then there is no need to study further. You can already apply for various government jobs. I am pointing out some for you.
Banking job will be perfect if you are willing to take it. The requirement for government bank job in graduation degree which you already possess. The public sector banks which you may recognize as government banks hires candidates for two posts. Bank Clerk Bank PO For both these jobs there is entrance exam. Institute of Banking Personnel Services conducts the entrance exam for 19 Public Sector Banks in India. If you want banking jobs then this exam is must to appear for you. There are two exams for which you can apply: IBPS Clerk IBPS Bank PO Please check the criteria for both exams mentioned below to see whether you are eligible for them or not. IBPS Clerk Eligibility 1. You should have minimum of bachelor's degree. 2. There is no percentage criteria. 3. Diploma/degree in Computers is required. 4. Else Computer Science/IT subject should be studied in school or college. 5. The age limit is 20 to 28 years for the exam. IBPS Bank PO 1. Bachelor's degree holders can appear for this exam. 2. But should have 60 percent marks in bachelor's degree. 3. Need Computer Operating Certificate. 4. or Computer Science/IT subject in School or college. 5. You should be 20 years old to appear for exam. 6. Upper age limit is 28 years. Relaxation 1. 3 years for OBC. 2. 5 years for SC/ST. 3. 10 years for PWD. The relaxation is same for both exams. The next entrance exam which I will recommend is Civil Services Examination. You should apply for either Indian Administrative Service or the Indian Police Service. Please remember that clearing the Civil Services Examination is not an easy job especially when more than 10 Lakh students appear for it. Eligibility 1. Your nationality should be Indian for this exam. 2. UPSC accepts any under graduate degree. 3. There is no percentage criteria. 4. Must have turned 21 years to apply for it. 5. Should apply before turning 30 years. 6. OBC can apply before their 33th birthday. 7. SC/ST should apply before turning 35 years. |

Re: What are the career options for me after graduation? I am a student of B.A English Honors
You have many options available for you if you have passed B.A English Honours.
You can go for M.A English and after completion of IT you will be eligible for UGC NET if you want to become a lecturer in Government colleges. You must get 55% marks in the M.A to become eligible for UGC NET. So you can take admission into M.A English if you have aim to become an Lecturer. There is B.Ed option also available for you if you want to become a teacher in schools. So you can take admission into B.Ed. from a good Institute or College. The admission into B.Ed will be based on the entrance examination. If you perform well in the entrance then you will get a good college for doing B.Ed. After completion of B.Ed you will become eligible for TET and for getting a Government job in schools you have to qualify TET. |

Re: What are the career options for me after graduation? I am a student of B.A English Honors
See, CELTA is Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers in other languages. I don't think this will be effective that much. Even if you are to become a teacher in English, people will check your pass-out certificate of English honors. Even it might happen that when your recruiters see that after doing English honors you did CELTA again, then they will be doubtful about your English knowledge. They will think that since you did not know English very well, you did this course. This is not a certified course to get a job in teaching English as yet. Schools look for B.Ed. candidates and colleges look for M.A. and PhD. candidates in the subject in which they are recruiting the faculty. So go for M.A. in English.
