iwould like to know whether chemical engineering is useful. is there any campus interview. does it have any scope in india.

Yes Chemical Engineering is useful as the job scope for Chemical Engineers in India is on the rise for past few years. Perhaps 7-8 years ago there wasn't much scope for Chemical Engineers in India. Only Gujarat was considered as job hub for Chemical Engineers or they were told to look for jobs outside India may be in United States, but now situation has changed.

Several major Multi National Companies, PSU and other government jobs awaits Chemical Engineers in India.

Today Manufacturing industry is one major sector where jobs are available for the Chemical Engineers. Now I don't mean that only manufacturing industry has jobs, other industries too offer jobs which I would mention below but the highest prospects are in Manufacturing industry.

Fertilizer industry is another sector where Chemical Engineers can opt for. Several companies from this field are always on the look for Chemical Engineers as the demand of pesticides is incresing in Agriculture sector of India while government has banned several pesticides citing health issues.

Because huge subsidies are offered to farmers the use of pesticides has increased, thus the requirement of Chemical Engieers who can help the companies come up with effective pesticides that meet the strict policy of the government and are eco friendly.

As far as government jobs are concerned, enviormental issues, water treatment and waste management has opened job opportunities for Chemical Engineers. As you may know that our rivers are getting polluted by the day and government not just on central level but on states level are working on water treatment to make our rivers especially Ganga clean once again. This opens up job opportunities for Chemical Engineers.

Nuclear Power Plants and Nuclear Research Centers also have jobs for Chemical Engineers. Several Chemical students have got job in BHABHA while now India is also building several Nuclear Power plants. We already have one in Tamil Nadu while 2 more are planned in Gujarat and Maharashtra. This is just a beginning since government has decided to focus on Nuclear energy to fulfill power demand of the nation.

Pharmaceutical companies are also good option for chemical students, they lead the way for campus interviews in India for chemical students. Ranbaxy is the most famous name in India and offers a lot of on campus placements for Chemical students.

As far campus interview is concerned, there are several companies who offer on campus jobs. I already mentioned Ranbaxy that some say leads the way, there are several other companies as well but it depends of colleges.

I m pursing chemical engg. . wanted to know that related to cosmetics , which type of job can i get!?

Chemical Engineering is one of the good courses in Engineering and there are good opportunities after passing the course from a recognized university in India.

The companies are available in public and private sector and you will be offered good opportunities.

You can try in the following fields:

Cosmetics

Paints and Dyes

Food Processing and other fields………

So do not worry about the course and pass the course with good percentage in order to get a job soon.
