I would like to know if I have completed my masters degree via distance education, would I still be eligible to apply for net or is it essential to complete masters through regular course?

Eligibility for CSIR UGC NET entrance examination:
You Must have a M.Sc. or equivalent degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks And the final year Students of M.Sc. are also eligible to appear in CSIR NET exams.

Age Eligibility Criteria -

For Junior Research fellowship – You must be between 19 –28 years of age.

For Lectureship – There is no upper age limit. You should be at least 19 years of age.

If you have given your master degree from UGC recognised university,than ofcourse you are eligible for NET.Either be a regular course or distance learning course you must have done in from UGC recognised institute.

Ho yes you are eligible for NET exam being a candidate of master degree holder in distanc education.

Generally net exam is conducted by the UGC(UNIVERSITY GRANTS COMMISSION) twice in a year.

For this you have to complete master's degree with atleast 55% of marks from any recognised university.

5% of marks relaxation for the SC/ST candidates.

There is no age limit for the Lecturship, but the Junior research Fellowship minimum age is 19 years and maximum age is 28 years.
