Completed my Master's Degree via Distance Education : Am I Eligible for NET exam?
Hi,
I would like to know if I have completed my masters degree via distance education, would I still be eligible to apply for net or is it essential to complete masters through regular course? |

Hello friend,
Yes, you are eligible to apply for the NET exam. The eligibility to appear in the NET exam is to have a Master's degree in the general study courses with at least 55% marks from a recognized university. So if your distance education institute is a recognized one then you can apply for this exam. Good luck!! |

Eligibility for CSIR UGC NET entrance examination:
You Must have a M.Sc. or equivalent degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks And the final year Students of M.Sc. are also eligible to appear in CSIR NET exams. Age Eligibility Criteria - For Junior Research fellowship – You must be between 19 –28 years of age. For Lectureship – There is no upper age limit. You should be at least 19 years of age. |

I have a M.Sc (Rural Management) and B.Sc (Statistics - Honours) degrees. Would I be eligible for UGC-CSIR's exam in Mathematical Sciences? I have very high grades (well above 55%) in both my grad. as well as P.G. Would be grateful if someone can reply a.s.a.p. - Thanx Zee

Is MLIS(Master in Library and Information Science) degree from IGNOU eligible for Lectureship/Asst. Professor posts if I clear NET in MLIS?

If you have given your master degree from UGC recognised university,than ofcourse you are eligible for NET.Either be a regular course or distance learning course you must have done in from UGC recognised institute.

I completed M.A. with 52% through distance education in2001 and m.phil in 2006. Again I joined an M.A.in the same discipline and got 61%. will the M.phil be considered for the second M.A.? Am i eligible to appear for net since i completed the second master's degree through distance education in 2011.

Hai,
Ho yes you are eligible for NET exam being a candidate of master degree holder in distanc education. Generally net exam is conducted by the UGC(UNIVERSITY GRANTS COMMISSION) twice in a year. For this you have to complete master's degree with atleast 55% of marks from any recognised university. 5% of marks relaxation for the SC/ST candidates. There is no age limit for the Lecturship, but the Junior research Fellowship minimum age is 19 years and maximum age is 28 years. For more details visit http://www.ugcnetonline.in Best of luck. |

Yes,you are applicable for NET exam.
NET exam is conducted by the UGC twice a year the minimum qualification needed for this exam is MASTER DEGREE from a recognized university in regular or distance education. ELIGIBILITY: Candidate should complete Master degree from a recognized university with 55% marks. Candidate should be a citizen of india. No age limit for lectureship.
