could you tell me about reservation for OBC students in IIM's and if there is then could you ellaborate it?
what is the confined syllabus for catiim's?

According to the rules entitled by Supreme Court There must be 27% of seat(reservation) for OBC in higher education...
so all IIMs are under this rule...

After the Supreme Court order in 2008 all National Government Funded Higher Institutes there should be 27% seats reserved for OBC (Non Creamy Layer).

This 27% percent reservation sould be implemented in 3 years. 6% in first, 15% in second and ultimately 27% in the third year.

So, there is total 27% seats reserved for OBC (Non Creamy Layer) candidates. But this doesn't means that seats for General Category students will be decrease. Court strictly ordered that proportion of general category seats would not be hinder in any way. Therefore keeping the general to obc ration balanced similar proportion of seats are increased for 'General Category' also simultaneously.

according to Times Of India newspaper,
IIM-A is going to increase their intake in OBC candidates by 2011.

last year 12% were reserved for OBC candidates, but this it has been increased to 27%.

according to IIM-A officials, total no. of seats reserved for OBC candidates are 104 out of 385 candidates.

There is 27% quota reservation for OBC candidates in all IIMs.

Also, the reserved seats had not been given from the previous

total available seats for GEN and OBC candidates before the implementation

of reservation. The total seats have been increased and thus

about 40% of increase has been took placed in the no. of seats

in all IIMs.

Regarding syllabus of CAT examination, The test contains questions

which evaluates quantitative, verbal, and logical & data interpretation

abilities of appearing candidate.

what about the creamy layer

if we want to join in IIM, what is the rank that we should get in CAT
