Re: Details about quota for OBC students in IIM?
After the Supreme Court order in 2008 all National Government Funded Higher Institutes there should be 27% seats reserved for OBC (Non Creamy Layer).
This 27% percent reservation sould be implemented in 3 years. 6% in first, 15% in second and ultimately 27% in the third year. So, there is total 27% seats reserved for OBC (Non Creamy Layer) candidates. But this doesn't means that seats for General Category students will be decrease. Court strictly ordered that proportion of general category seats would not be hinder in any way. Therefore keeping the general to obc ration balanced similar proportion of seats are increased for 'General Category' also simultaneously. Regards ~Faiyaz~ |

The total seats have been increased and thus about 40% of increase has been took placed in the no. of seats in all IIMs. For reference here is the of detail news from The Hindu daily: http://www.hindu.com/2006/09/30/stor...3002591400.htm Regarding syllabus of CAT examination, The test contains questions which evaluates quantitative, verbal, and logical & data interpretation abilities of appearing candidate.
