Electric Motor:

It is an electric machine which converts electrical energy into mechanical energy.

The electric motor's magnetic field interact with field winding currents to produce force inside the motor for rotation and generation of mechanical energy.

There are mainly two types of motors depending upon supply.

>>AC motor.

>>DC motor.

Electric Motors consists of stator, rotor, windings and commutators.

The reverse operation is done by the electric generator. Electrical generator converts mechanical energy into electrical energy.

Generator is mainly classified as :

>>Dynamos: It generates DC current.

>>Alternators: It generates alternating current.
