Re: Do I need to qualify in GATE Exam to apply for Government Jobs?
Actually it depends upon the post which you want to apply.
GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. It is organized by Indian Institute of Science and IITs to admit the students into M.Tech. Actually GATE tests the technical knowledge of a student. So, if you can score above 80-85 percentile then it is proved that you are really good in technical. Many of the companies which provides campusing to the engineering students test the technical knowledge of the student very sincerely. So, having a good score always put a better impression of you on the interviewer. The government company which takes valid GATE Score 1.>IOCL 2.>NTPC 3.>COAL INDIA 4.>ONGC 5.>BHEL ETC. Besides this if you want to apply for 1.>Indian Railways you should qualify SCRA examination. 2.>Air Force you should qualify IAS examination. 3.>Army you should qualify NDA examination. |

Re: Do I need to qualify in GATE Exam to apply for Government Jobs?
Dear pal,
GATE is a aptitude exam for the engineers and it is not mandatory for aspirant to apply for the government exam. It is mainly used for the admission of the aspirants to the masters degree in engineering. But later due to some restriction and act passed it is used for appointing the aspirants to the vacancies that are available in the public sector units. Other than for public sector units you do not need gate score. Different exams are conducted both by the state are well as by the central government for filling the vacancies that are available under them. But as far the gate exam is concern it is easy to prepare for it and also you do not need to go for coaching provided you have studied your subjects well in the bachelor degree course. So you can prepare for it easily when compared to other exams. In addition to this the gate score is valid for a duration of two years. Government exam which is related to engineers is the Indian engineering service exam which is also held every year |

Re: Do I need to qualify in GATE Exam to apply for Government Jobs?
It is not necessary to qualify in GATE Exam to apply for government jobs.
The GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. This Exam conducted by IIS (Indian Institute of Science and 7 IIMs (Indian Institute of Management). These days… all the public sector jobs are being related to GATE score. Generally GATE is given 75% weightage and Interview is given only 25% weightage. However even before GATE you must have 65% aggregate in your graduation to apply for most of the PSU's. The following are few companies taking GATE score into consideration:- >> Grade A companies will consider the students who got a 90 percentile & Grade B companies will consider the students who qualified for Gate. Maharatna Navaratna BHEL IOCL ISRO BARC NTPC ICAR is few famous companies taking gate score into consideration. >> Recently notifications for BHEL are out and you can apply for them before 4th Jan 2012 >> If you get good rank. I personally suggest you to complete M.tech for much better future as you can study in IIT and you will get stipend also. Good Luck!! |

Re: Do I need to qualify in GATE Exam to apply for Government Jobs?
Dear Friend..
Nowadays GATE score is used by some PSU's for their recruitment process.. But it is not only way to get into the government job...It means that without GATE score you can go into PSU's as well as in Bank jobs too.. Following are the list of companies which recruit through GATE score: --NTPC --CEL --BARC --ONGC --HPCL --BPCL Following are the list of government jobs you can get without GATE score: --AAI --RAILWAY --BANK JOB (PO, IT OFFICER, CLERK) --BEL --ISRO **So in the last it is not compuslory that without GATE you will not get the government job.. But if you have GATE qualified then you have much more chances to get into government job.. All the best.. |
