Does iit offer genetics engineering...could u please tell me that

in the iit level does not directly genetic engineering available. if you are interested in the genetic engineering you have to join life sciences branch at graduation level or you can also join biotechnology in any engineering college.
this will give an opportunity to work later in genetic engineering such as iit offer bio technology.
iit madras /iit bombay / iit delhi.

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) do not offer a B.Tech. course in Genetic Engineering.

Instead, Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering are offered.

As you want to do genetic engineering in IIT but,the IITs do not offer Genetic engineering course but yes they do offer Biotechnology and Biochemical engineering courses..
If u are really interested in genetics then u can go for Degree in genetics and then M.Sc course in genetics or u can also opt for M.Tech biotechnology after B.tech..

the basic eligibility for studying Genetics is that u should have studied Physics , chemistry, maths and biology at plus 2 level...
and there are many good universities offering MSc in genetics like:

University of Delhi
Osmania University
Barkatullah Vishwavidyalaya
Punjab Agricultural University
Chaudary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University
Rajendra agricultural University

these are some really good universities..

IITs do not offer B.Tech. courses in genetic engineering. Therefore you can study biotechnology / biochemical engineering programmes offered by IITs.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras (http://jee.iitm.ac.in) conducts four-year B.Tech. biotechnology and five-year dual degree M.Tech. programmes in biotechnology.

In order to do Genetic Engineering course you should be able to meet these Eligibility conditions :

Educational qualification :-

• Your minimum educational qualification should be Inter pass out with science stream from recognized board/university.
• Your subject combination should be Physics,Chemistry,Mathematics and Biology.

Marks :-

• Your minimum marks in Inter should be 75%.
• Your average marks in science subjects should be 60%.

Age :-

• In order to do this course your age should not be above 25 years.

If you are Interested to Genetic Engineering,then this course is not offered in any IIT Campuses.But you can do similar courses that deals with this course.Some of these are :-

1. B.Tech in Biotechnology.
2. B.Tech in Biochemical Engineering.
3. B.Tech in Biological Sciences.
4. B.Tech in Life Sciences.

Genetic science deals with the scope and evolution of various species.Under Biotechnology course you will learn about genetics and you can make your carrer in this filed.After completing this course you will be able to discover and manufacture Insulin's,medicines,Knowledge to cure various diseases and causes for it through this course.This course will help you to get jobs in Pharmaceutical companies and if you will go for higher studied then you can do M.sc in Microbiology.

However, if you wish to do any course related to Genetic Engineering, then you can choose other courses like:

Bio Technology course which is available in:

IIT Guwahati, Madras and Roorkee

Bio Technology and Bio Chemical Engineering which is available in:

the IITs don't offer the course of genetic engineering but yes if you take the degree of graduation in biotechnology and then you decide to go for the masters and doctorate in this course then you might get a chance.Cos no institute is offering a direct degree in genetics cos it is a field which includes more complicated fundamentals of biology.As biology has zology as its branch.You will find genetics as the branch of bio tehcnology.

IITs offer you a degree in non-medical field where as genetic engineering is s field of medical line. IITs do not offer this but is offered by the other good universities.
