Re: Drawbacks of doing mba after bca?
Are there any drawbacks? I dont think so.
MBA is completely different from BCA. So nothing great here. Go for MBA. Your graduation would have no effect on MBA. But yeah there are lots of advantages if you do MBA after Engineering or MCA as you will be good at calculations and maths which will take you at higher level So there are no drawbacks |

Re: Drawbacks of doing mba after bca?
Hello friend,
I cant see any drawback of pursuing MBA after BCA, provided you go for MBA in IT. Since you have done your bachelors in computer applications, you will be able to relate it with IT, and will be an added advantage to carry technical knowledge along with managerial skill in the corporate world. Apart from this, MBA in finanace/marketing/insurance, have good scope in the market but it might not be suitable for you. |

Re: Drawbacks of doing mba after bca?
Hi,
There are no Drawbacks but there are lot of benefits in selecting MBA after BCA. Comparing with MCA, mba is a better choice. Completing mca will land you in software companies But you will be entering a different jargon if you do management Ideal stream would be mba in Information Technology Placement depends on the Institute you are doing and your marks. Re: Drawbacks of doing mba after bca?
There are no drawbacks as such.
MBA is designed in such a manner that any graduate can go for it. Though it is more recommended to do MCA after BCA and then MBA. It will take a total of 7 years but the scope gets wider as you have MCA as well as MBA too. |

Re: Drawbacks of doing mba after bca?
friend, i you has taken the decision once than you must give your whole heartedly effort to it rather than thinking of advantages and disadvantages .
but as you asked it , so let me tell you that if you was good in your graduation and you are very much interested in computers than you must go for mba( I.T.) OR else all depends upon you that in which branch/stream you are interested . definitely , you will find it difficult to prepare for it since half of the subjects are not in your practice since 12th but it's same for all . so just think about yourself and if still you are not motivated so , you might change your decision of fighting for CAT since " there is always room for improvements " ... |

Re: Drawbacks of doing mba after bca?
Hello friend,
I don't think that doing MBA after BCA will be a drawback for you! Anyway, the course you studied in graduation will be of no more value in your future life as because MBA is totally different course of study than BCA which is fully computer application based. And the only disadvantage will be the previous point i mentioned. Otherwise, you can prefer MBA after BCA if you no interest in your subject of graduation. It would be rather fruitful for you if you choose doing MCA after BCA and that will be the most preferable for a BCA student. An MBA can by the way earn you a quick managerial job in Govt or private management farms. Now its all onto you which way you want to pursue higher studies. All the best! |

Re: Drawbacks of doing mba after bca?
hi friend,
There are some drawbacks: look ! BCA is fully based on computer technology where MBA is a business administration stream. After doing BCA if you do MBA it will be difficult for you to understand the concept but i am not saying that its not possible, if you are really interested then you can go for it. In my opinion i will suggest you to do MCA after BCA because it has great scope for jobs in IT field. so think twice before taking any decision. BEST OF LUCK! |

Re: Drawbacks of doing mba after bca?
There is no any drawbacks of doing mba after bca. you are suitable for doing the MBA program after your BCA. Any of the graduates can apply for the MBA program. Nevertheless, you should have completed your degree course from a reputable University. You should have a suitable percentage of marks from the degree course. The percentage required may vary in different Universities. You can pursue the course as a distance- learning or regular program. You can choose a recognized institute for following the program. An entrance test will be there followed by GD and PI. Some of the tests are CAT, MAT and XAT that are prevailing in India.

Re: Drawbacks of doing mba after bca?
Do not get confused, always be stable in the decision what you are taking. It is good in doing MBA after your BCA.But MBA is no way related to BCA, this might be an disadvantage for you,but after studying MBA you can also enter in the management side of the company. This would be the advantage of choosing MBA.But if you choose MCA you will study related to your field, so you can increase your knowledge in the same subject.
The option is yours and depends on your interest. Good luck. |

Re: Drawbacks of doing mba after bca?
There is no drawbacks of Doing MBA after BCA. It is ofcourse beneficial for you.
But you have to work hard in the first year a little. Because MBA ia all about management. So in the first year you have study subjects like bussiness communication, economics, organizational behavior, human resource management, statistics management, accountancy etc which you have not learned in BCA or about which you do not have deeper knowledge. In the 2nd year of MBA you have to decide your specialization, there you can choose any of the following specializations: MBA in Finance MBA in Health (Pharmaceuticals) MBA in Consultancy MBA in Information Technology MBA in Telecommunications MBA in Media MBA in Services MBA in Human Resources MBA in Banking But for either IT or HR would be best. After completing MBA, you will get jobs in areas like Business Consultancies, Brand & Marketing, Non-profit Organizations, Personal Business, Export Companies, Financial Organizations, Industrial Houses, Multinational Companies etc.... So don't regret your decision. You have taken a very good decision. |

Re: Drawbacks of doing mba after bca?
BCA is basically a bachelor degree in computer applications and MBA is master degree in business applications.the main and the most important drawback or disadvantage of doing mba after bca is that you have no base in business then you become week from those students who have the base in bba or in bussiness applications.so according to me,you should do mca after bca.

Re: Drawbacks of doing mba after bca?
There won't be any drawbacks at all for you after completion of MBA course even though you have completed your Graduation in BCA.
The reason being you can opt for technical related specializations even in MBA course also like MBA in Systems Management MBA in Information Technology Soon after completion of MBA course with the above mentioned streams, you can try for job opportunities in top IT companies in India. In addition to your core knowledge, you can attain life skills by the time you complete your MBA course. But the thing is many of the IT companies prefer taking MCA candidates than MBA candidates. In order to make entry into IT companies, You should be a candidate of Career 60 having scored a minimum of 60% of marks in all your academic levels right from SSC. You should not have any pending backlogs. Your academic gap should not be more than 2 years. The selection procedure would involve Written Exam Group Discussion Technical Interview HR Interview Have good preparation for the selection procedure and crack it. Wish you all the best. |
