Hello friend,
In order to become a DSP, you will need to join and serve the IPS as an SP for couple of years. To join IPS, you will need to appear for Civil Service Examination. Civil Service examination is conducted every year by UPSC(union public service commission). 1. Preliminary examination-conducted during the second half of may. The preliminary exam is followed by the main examination and interview. 2. Main examination- conducted during the month of oct/nov 3. Interview (for those who passed the main examination) Eligibility: 1. The minimum educational qualification required is a degree from a recognised university in any stream. Age limit: min max General- 21yrs. 30 yrs. OBC - 21 yrs 33 yrs. SC/ST - 21 yrs. 35 yrs. Preliminary exam syllabus: General Studies 150 marks Optional Subject 300 marks All the questions will be of objective type and list of optional subjects are as follows: Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Commerce, Economics, Electrical Engineering, Geography, Geology, Indian History, Law, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Science, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology, Statistics and Zoology. Main exam syllabus: Compulsary subjects- One Indian language - 300 marks English - 300 marks Essay - 200 marks General Studies -300 marks Optional subject- Any two of the optional subjects -300 marks After getting selected for IPS you will be under a probation period as an SP of a district in any state in which you have been allocated. after the probation period of two years, you will be confirmed as a district superintendent of police which in cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore are known as ACP. for further details visit www.upscexam.com |

the selection for the post of the s p or DSP is by the upsc examination. first of all you will be selected as an IPS then you will be posted for the SP and DSP. and for that maximum age limits in case of the general candidate is 28 years. for the more details you can check on the websites. www.upsc.gov.in |

To become a DSP, you should have graduation degree and your age should be less than 35 years.For this , you have to appear in the exam named state public service commission. Syllabus depend on the subject which have kept in the graduation. Best of luck. |

Eligibility criteria:
Candidate should posses the following or its equivalent qualification on the date of notification: candidate should have passed first class degree in electronic and communication engineering of any recognized university. Age: 21-30 years. Relaxation of 5 years for reserved category. Application for TNPSC 2011 Deputy Superintendent of Police Entrance Exam. OMR Application forms will be available at all Head Post Offices and Selected Sub-Post Offices in Tamil Nadu/Pondcherry and also from TNPSC Office Sales Counter. Candidates can also apply online through the official website.(http://www.tnpsc.gov.in/announcement.htm) TNPSC 2011 Deputy Superintendent of Police Entrance Exam How to Apply The Interested candidate can also apply online and sent some along with recent passport size photograph affixed on the right hand corner of the application and attested copies certificate and a demand draft in favors of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. Paper pattern: There will be a written examination of 300 marks of 3 hours duration which will be divided in two parts: General Knowledge (Degree Std.) & General Tamil / General English. In second part candidates have the option to either attempt General Tamil or General English questions. Both the parts will be of 150 marks each containing 100 questions each. Important Dates (Tentative): Date of Written Examination: first week of May, 2011 Availability of Application Forms: second week of November, 2010 Last date for receipt of applications/Online Application: first week of February, 2011 Selection Procedure: Selection of the candidates for the posts will be made strictly on the basis of their performance in the written test. |
