(i) Age limits : 21-30 years as on 1.7.2011 (ii) Educational Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification. The eligibility criteria for appearing in IAS exam conducted by UPSC is-
* The candidate must be a citizen of India. * He/she must hold a bachelor's degree in any field from a recognised university. * For general category the age limit is 21 to 30 years. * For OBC category age limit is 21 to 33 years. * For SC/ST category age limit is 21 to 35 years. * General candidates can give maximum 4 attempts, OBC 7 and SC/ST no limit within age limit. * No minimum percentage are required. To become IAS you have to appear for the civil service exam which is conducted by the UPSC twice a year and the examination is done in two phases Preliminary and the MAIN exam.
Preliminary examination is of objective types and common for all students where as main examination consists of written exam and the Interview . In the preliminary exam there will be total 2 papers and these two papers will be common for all students and of duration 2 hours each .Its based on general studies . The main examination consist of total 9 papers .The candidates have to choose 2 optional subjects from the list of optional subjects .There will be 2 papers on each optional paper which means that there will be total 4 papers on the two optional subjects . The main exam is of total 2000 marks Only those students will be eligible for the main exam who have cleared the preliminary exam ELIGIBILITY: You should have got a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. You should lies between 21-30 years for general students .There is some relaxation given in upper age to the SC/ST which is of 5 years and to OBC its of 3 years which means that the upper age limit for the SC/ST and OBC is :: 35 years and 33 years respectively . Eligibility criteria:-
The only educational criteria for IAS is a graduation in any stream from any recognized university..... *** final year students are also eligible for IAS. But if selected, then final years students have to show their certificate of passing at the time of interview. then take a look at the age factor... Your age should be between 21 years and 30 years. [33 years and 35 years for OBC and for Sc/ST] IAS is an exam that makes you to enter into the competitive world and make you to get the top posts such as DC and DSP and ACP so on.. You should have good knowledge in current affairs and social issues. Syllabus:- The Exam is basically divided into two parts... 1. Preliminary 2. Main In Preliminary, 2 papers are there... Each paper carry 200 marks and duration is 2 hours. The subjects in Paper 1 are: • Current events of national and international importance • History of India and Indian National Movement • Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic geography of India and the World. • Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc. • Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc. • General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization • General Science. The subjects in paper 2 are: • Comprehension • Interpersonal skills including communication skills; • Logical reasoning and analytical ability • Decision making and problem solving • General mental ability • Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. -Class X level) • English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level). • Questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level (last item in the Syllabus of Paper-II) will be tested through passages from English language only without providing Hindi translation thereof in the question paper. • The questions will be of multiple choice, objective type. In main exam you have to select the optional subjects from the following: Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Commerce and Accountancy, Economics, Electrical Engineering, Geography, Geology, History, Law, Management, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Science, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science and International Relations, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology, Statistics, Zoology. Literatures: Arabic, Assamese, Bengali, Chinese, English, French, German, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Marathi, Malayalam, Manipuri, Nepali, Oriya, Pali, Persian, Punjabi, Russian, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu. The IAS exam is a civil service exam, which is conducted by UPSC.. The eligibility criteria for IAS exam- Educational qualification- *One must have complete the graduation in any trade.. *One should not have any due backlogs during the graduation or any PG course.. Age criteria- *The age should be in between 21-30 years.. For SC/ST the age relaxation is 5years.. and For OBC the age relaxation is 3years.. If you are interested in IAS examination then you will have to fulfill these criteria : Academic Qualification : The candidate must be graduate from any university. Age Limit : For General candidate:21 to 30 years.[SC/ST will get 5 years age relaxation and OBC will get 3 year age relaxation] My friend, I think you already have these criteria.. IAS (Indian Administrative Services) is basically for those who are firmly determined for dedication of themselves towards the own country.
If you are so interested for IAS,after being Engineers, Doctors, or Ph.d you can sit IAS exam conducted by UPSC. Application forms will come out in the month of January. According to the new exam pattern of the IAS exam 1) General-Studies paper which carries 150 marks 2) Optional paper which carries 150 marks. Eligibility Criteria :- 1.Educational Qualification:To appear in IAS exam you should have a Graduation degree in any stream from a recognize University. If you are in final year you can also eligible to apply for the examination. 2.Age:The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of appearing of this examination. The age relaxation is also applicable for the candidates belong to reservation category. No.Of Attemptes: General Candidates - 4 Attempts OBC Candidates - 7 Attempts SC/ST Candidates - No Limits. |
