IES is a exam .PSU or "public sector undertaking" is not a exam but a term used to refer to government companies. To get job in any PSU, search for job opportunity in that PSU in local newspaper or internet and apply there. Then you have to appear in recruitment exam of that PSU.That's all

Don't just blindly believe on me.Search on google or any other sources of yours if you have any doubt.

Hello friend,
To be eligible for Engineering Service exam, you need to hold a degree in engineering from a recognized university. Apart from being an engineer, you must be within the age limit of 21-30 years. The maximum age limit is relaxed upto 3 years for candidates belonging to OBC category and 5 years for SC/ST category.
Qualified candidates are appointed in the engineering department of Indian Railway Service, Central Electrical Engineering Service, Indian Naval Armament Service, Indian Ordnance Factories Service, Central Power Engineering Service
Indian Defence Service of Engineers and Indian Supply Service.
For further information, refer to the official website of UPSC.

Public Sector Undertakings are the companies regulated by government of India. They conducts examination for various posts and the eligibility criteria depends upon the particular posts and department. Each PSU conducts their own examination for recruitment and the notification for the same is published in India's leading newspapers and on the official website of the PSU. For a list of PSU, refer to the official website of Indian Government. To know the eligibility criteria and procedure to apply, visit the official website of each PSU.

the eligible four branch of engineering for IES(Indian Engineering Services) are
Category I—Civil Engineering.
Category II—Mechanical Engineering.
Category III—Electrical Engineering.
Category IV—Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

B.Tech from any one of these branch are eligible for IES examination. there is no percentage marks criterion for IES examination.

PSU means Public sector unit. this is not just one examination. various PSU like BSNL, NTPC, ISRO, BHEL etc conducts different examination for recruitment their organization. the eligibility criterion differ from one organization to other. there is no fixed eligibility criterion for all PSU. but general if you have more than 60% or 65% marks throughout then you will be eligible for most of the PSUs examination.

for IES examination visit the website http://www.upsc.gov.in you will get total information about the examination. here i am attaching the notification for IES 2011 examination. you may download the attachment.

best of luck.

Dear,
Eligibility Criteria for IES and PSU exams are given below.
•-> Graduation in engineering from recognized university.

•-> Age Limit - 21 to 30 years.

•-> 5 year age relaxation is given to SC and ST candidates whereas 3 year age relaxation is given to OBC Candidates.

•-> Min. 60% marks in graduation degree.

As graduation percentage needed for PSUs & IES is 60%, sorry to say but you are not eligible for these examinations.
