The general rules include that the college/institute from where the candidate pursues the course should be a recognised institute. Also you must ensure that the you secure a minimum of 60% marks. There is a minimum age requirement of 21 years. Only graduates are allowed to appear for the exam. But in some cases candidates in the final year can also appear for the exam. The only condition is that at the time of joining you should have completed the course.

For exams like GATE, CAT, MAT,... mark is not at all needed. Just you should complete 5 semesters in Engineering.

Dear Friend,
You are not eligible for any entrance exam at this point of time.
However, after 3rd year or after you have passed 6th semester, you become eligible for entrance exams like GATE, CAT, MAT, XAT, Bank P.O., GMAT, IES, IAS, SCRA, etc.

Hi

You have not mentioned anything about the entrance exam you are talking about

Taking it as MBA entrance exam

following is the eligibility criteria for appearing for CAT

- candidate should be graduate
- candidate should have done his/her graduation from UGC recognized college/institute
- Candidate should have atleast 50% marks in graduation (45% in case of SC/ST)
- No live backlog
- no limit on age and number of attempts
- final year graduate can also appear

Thus you need to have atleast 50%, but it is highly advisable to have very good marks in your graduation as it is one of the parameter in selection.

All the best
