Eligibility for lecturers to take classes in MCA course?

My name is S.SHANTHI from Tiruchirappalli.
I have completed M C A AND M PHIL through distance mode of education, Bharathidasan university Tiruchirappalli. I have PASSED both degrees in first class.
From 2009 onwards i am working in a Engineering college. They say that i am not eligible to take class for MCA as i have studied in distance mode .
Am i eligible to handle classes for Engineering base MCA.
kindly clarify my doubt.

Generally candidate who qualified following exams is eligible for lecturer in MCA
* M PHIL
* P. HD
* Net
