Which entrance exam is necessary for a son studying in 10th to do career in robotics in mechanical


Hello sir
At present my son is studying in 10th and will apear for his ssc exams in 2014 so which entrance exam is necessary for him to give as he is eager in doing his career in robotics in mechanical engineering and can he go in robotics by doing diploma or he should complete his hsc and then a degree in mechanical engineering please suggest as i am very much confused and cant take any decision
