There is no limitation on the discipline of the graduation or in the 10+2 to appear for the civil services examination.

Civil services examination is conducted by the UPSC every year and the eligibility to appear for the examination is :-
* Candidates must have passed the graduation in any discipline.
* Candidates age must be between the 21-32 years with the relaxation in the age for the reserved category.

So, go through the course of your interest. For more information about the examination visit at the www.upsc.gov.in.

After completion of 12th standard, you can do graduation degree in Arts stream to become a IAS exam.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services.

If you have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognized university then you are eligible for IAS exam.

Age criteria:

For General: 21 to 30 years
For OBC: 21 to 33 years
For SC/ST: 21 to 35 years

No. of attempts:

For General: 3
For OBC: 7
For SC/ST: No Restriction

Well, there is no such particular filed (stream) that is require to appear for IAS exam. If you are interested in becoming IAS officer all you need to have :

Educational Requirement: Passed in any bachelor degree from recognized university/institute

Age Limit : General : 32 years, OBC : 35 years, SC/ST : 37 years

Number of Attempts :General :6 attempts, OBC :9 attempts, SC/ST: No limit

Nationality : Should be Indian
