Future of PO-Probationary offcer is good in the field of bank and it needs a lot of hard work to shine in the future. When you are taken as PO in any bank at first you will be doing some job which is given later by 1-2 yrs you have a chance to be the Manager of the bank depending upon your performance

-> As you are writing your board exams you must complete a bachelors degree after that with minimum of 60 % to apply for the PO post.

So concentrate well on your studies and do your exams well, am sure you will be one of the future Manager in a leading bank...

All the Best..

Red face Re: Which is the future of PO?

Probationary Officer ( PO ) is the initial stage to enter in banking industry.

From this, one can progress very quickly to higher hierarchy like Manager, General Manager & may more.

So this type of job fascinates fresh graduates a lot. And also they are correct in choosing this.

In recent days, the competition for the bank exams for PO positions has increased tremendously.

A probationary officer is the starting level recruitment for bank officers.

Good communication skills, and ability to resolve conflicts calmly are the expectations from PO

Job profile of Probationary officer is as follows
-General banking
-Administration and paper work in bank
-Any other work in the bank till the completion of his probation period

During training period, they are trained for
Accounting, marketing, finance and billing.

After the confirmation as PO he will become Assistant manager in any one of the branch of the bank to handle
-Daily customer transaction
-cash management
-Draft issuance etc.

As you got the experience, you will be promoted to higher levels.

There may be chance that a candidate can climb upto managing director for a bank from the PO position.
