how can i apply for merchant navy what should be qualification.suggest me some government or approved colleges. i am also trying for commercial pilot than please suggest me government colleges. what will cost for these courses .

Since,your percentage in PCM is 55% you are not eligible for either of the courses.

The minimum requirement for Merchant navy courses like marine engineering,b.sc.(nautical science) is 60% aggregate in PCM (class 12) ,some institute only demands 60% in maths in your class 12 exam.

The minimum requirement for CPL (commercial pilot licence) is 60% aggregate in Physics and Maths in your class 12 exam.
IGRUA (Indra gandhi rashtriya uran academy) is considered cheap & best flying school in India.It is a government institute.The course fees for CPL is 17 lacs.Website-http://www.igrua.gov.in,admission is through WOMBAT.
But your percentage does not fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria for either of the courses.

But dont worry still there is a hope,you can join merchant navy as a Deck cadet,after persuing a 1 year pre-sea training offered by many institutes of India.You can also join merchant navy directly after B.tech in (mechanical,electrical & electronics,Naval architech engineering ),after completing your b.tech in above mentioned one you have to undergo a 10 month pre-sea training in marine engineering which is offered by various institutes in India or recruiting company itself.

for getting into merchant navy you should apply for iitjee first,the admission are based on jee score

hi varun ,since you are having only 55% in your PCM,so i think you may not be able to give IIT-JEE exam so you cannot join several government colleges which take admission on the basis of IIT-JEE score card.

but dont get upset there are several institutes which offer the course both in sponsered and non-sponsered form like:

Career in Merchant Navy can be pursued either as an officer or a rating in mainly two specialized fields, i.e. Marine Engineering and Nautical (deck). To become a seafarer, following streams of entries (Pre-Sea courses) are available to Indian citizens in the Government as well as in private training institutions (recognized and approved by Director General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping):-

3 year degree course in Nautical Science for (10+2) students.

4 year degree course in Marine Engineering for (10+2) students.

2 year course for Diploma Holders.

1 year course for Graduate Mechanical Engineers.

3 month course for Deck Cadets for (10+2) students

There are four Government Training Institutes providing Pre-Sea and Post-Sea training of international standard :

1.Training Ship Chanakya, Navi Mumbai.
2.Marine Engineering & Research Institute (MERI), Kolkata.
3.Marine Engineering & Research Institute (MERI), Mumbai.
4.Lal Bahadur Shastri College of advanced Maritime Studies and Research, Mumbai.
different courses have different fees : The fees for these course is around Rs. 1,40,000/- including messing, uniform and accommodation.

The advertisement for this, is published in leading news papers of the country and employment news...
but commercial pilot is very expensive course fee cost approx. more than 10 lac ks

there is a procedure to join it.....the annual intake is only 20 students......

if u have many jacks with you then only you can think of getting into aviation and not to be rude with you merchant navy is also not a great optionbut still i would prefer anything except aviation .

you can join in merchant navy or commercial pilot in two ways.

1.through UES. which exam you can appear in the final year of your btech.

2.through UPSC exam. which exam you can appear after doing your btech.

but minimum 60% marks in graduation is essentially required.

if i do nautical science course from any private college which is approved by dg shippiing ..
it will have same value as government institute ..
