hi ... good to know that you are going to write GATE...GATE exam is the best way to enter for m.tech... most of the universities in india expect GATE score as a criteria... first of all to start with be through in your regular subjects and get good books for GATE and start preparing... you can also join WEEKEND COACHING CLASSES FOR GATE.. if anybody is an engineering student can surely get Admission in M.tech After Passing Gate Exam . Gate Exam is not so difficult as it is considered by Enginnering Students And Other students.for Passing the the gate,it should be taken in advice that ones Mathematics Should be strong,because the main hard subject in gate exam is Mathematics.one should study the mathematics subject of B.Tech from the starting of 2nd year to the fourth year,that is from 3rd semester to 8th semester and he\she would definitely pass the gate mathematics paper.and rest of the subjects are not so hard but can be passed after studying the subjects of b.tech thoroughly since 2nd year according to engineering branches.and additional subject is also taken for exam beyond compulsary subjects,that should be taken in choice according to students perfectness and interest also

GATE preparations require a lot of devoted time n if u have that then just collect notes of various classes and start from the root level urself..if u r falling short of time then join a coaching class eg. vidyalankar institute and walk on their suggested path.......classe just give you a domain of what and how to do the things.......u will get a hell lot of support from there...........self study will give you much time and save some money also.with regards...anurag.......

For Gate exams you should be clear about fundamental concepts of the subject that you are going to take as main(mechanical,electrical etc) in Gate.mostly the paper that you are studied in second year of your degree is important and the main thing is daily preparation is necessary.

Literally saying, this exam is getting tougher day by day, as almost all bachelor engineering students are running after cracking the exam for doing M.Tech.

So to survive in the huge competition,you have to try hard from wherever you start.

First of all, i don't know at which stage you are currently in your academic life, so that i can give you proper guidelines.

Whatever it is, i will suggest you to go through the problems of previous year papers and try to solve them.

If you are unable to solve after your try,then only see the solutions.

Practice this every day as far as you can . This will also make you time efficient and give you experience.

Have good deep concepts over some particular important topics according to the syllabus such that you can answer from those parts.

So prepare as you try to give your best..

for best prepration for GATE exam pls join coaching classes.take knowledge from experts in prepration of GATE.GATE exam is very difficult exam. if you got good marks then eligible for admission to M.TECH. also see previous question papers of GATE exam.

its not very tough test. you should have the knowledge of your core subjects.
by self studying your core subjects daily you can clear eaisly. also solve the old papers of gate. to know about the way of questions

GATE is very difficult exam to crack. to score well u should follow the given tips.

1.first clear your basic concepts from various books and remember many formulas.

2.practice more and more objectives from different books.

3.it will be better if u will join a coaching center. there u will get a lot of chance to practice among various students.

4.give practice tests as many as possible.

If you are an undergraduate student try to prepare for GATE from your graduation time. Make your fundamentals clear. Solve previous question papers. Appear for mock tests. Talk with experienced people. Make a list of formulae for ready reference. Once you complete give as many tests as you can .You will know where you stand.

just play and enjoy life u will going to crack gate exam.

I will suggest you to maintain some proper way of GATE preparation :

1:Maintain a time table for studying(6hr-8hr).
2:clear all concept on your own subjects.
3ont try to study all subjects,select any 6-8 subjectsin which you have more interest from GATE syllabus.
4:study general aptitude & verbal from R.S.Agarwal or Barrons's.

you can buy material for the prepration of gate they are available in market solve previouse year papers.

1.maths need intelligence more than hard working. i havent studied maths in degree time(m diploma student), but i spent just one month , n i could'n crack only two questions.
2.how n why someting occurs id not that important while studying some books, take care,
practice is the most important fact, take any boook, just solve it, dun thiknn much aftr u have done with all theories.
3.no coaching if u are much aware.
4.both, even intelligence is required more. mostly small tricks are ther in each question, u just have to find those with ur intelligence
5.yes it worth, atleast u will be satisfied and happy aftre getting a good rank in GATE.

iam a 3rd year btech cse student. which one is best for me CAT or GATE.can give 1st gate and if not qualify then cat in 4th year

HI dear focus on one thing i.e. either GATE or CAT.
It depands on your interest weather you would like to remain in Technical field or you like to switch to managment.
If you like to go for gate start preparing for gate only and leave the CAT.
If you like to go for cat start preparing for cat.
As your goal is not decided yet firstly decide it.
So, prepare one which you like most and its

You have not specify your branch in this post but general guideline are same for every gate aspirent follow this instructions:

Have a look over previous year paper.
Select subjects of higher weightage.
Go through those subjects.
Solve objective question of this subjects after completion of theory.
Also go through aptitude.
If more than 10 days left in exam and you prepare high weightage subjects then you can take any other subject and in last 10 days solve papers and review formula's.

Yes an average student can also clear GATE. Believe in yourself that you can do it.
As you are in 3 sem you have lot of time to prepare for gate so start preparing for gate from current sem with basics of CSE and and go for higher level if you prepare good foundation then you can do very well in gate and take admission in good college.

For getting good rank in GATE you must score atleast 45 marks out of 100 in entrance.

As level of papre vary this marks may vary.

For simple papre you have to score higher than 45 to secure good rank and for tough paper this marks decreases.
