The National Eligibility Test is conducted twice in a year. The candidates can either appear for the exam in June or in December. If you failed to apply for the National Eligibility Test last year then you will have to wait for the June 2013 entrance exam.

The forms will be made available once University Grants Commission issues a notification for that. It generally comes couple of months before the exam date. Therefore expect the notification for the next National Eligibility Test in April or May.

As far as SET entrance exam is concerned, there is no single SET exam. State Eligibility Test (SET) is the exam which is conducted by all states in India. Therefore when you want dates for SET exam, you will have to be more specific and mention the state.

NET/SET Eligibility

1. Only candidates of Indian origin can apply.

2. Only Post graduation degree holders are eligible for NET.

3. Must have minimum of 55 percent marks.

4. SC and ST need at least 50 percent marks.

5. Final year students are also eligible.

6. Your NET subject will be Computer Science and Applications.

7. There is no restriction on number of attempts.

Age Limit

1. There is no age limit if candidate is applying for lectureship.

2. The age limit is 28 years if applying for Junior Research Fellowship.

3. Upto 3 years relaxation for OBC.

4. Maximum of 5 years relaxation for SC/ST.
