Re: How to become a Pilot after completing 12th standard
After completing 12th standard you can apply for the Commercial Pilot course and once you have completed it, you will be given Commercial Pilot licence which is important to apply for the pilot job in commercial airlines.
Once you have obtained the commercial pilot licence, it would be possible for you to apply in any Indian airline such as Air India, Indigo etc. Even though our airline sector is under strain, there are still good opportunities available for the pilots. But before you apply please remember that entire course is going to cost around Rs 15 to 20 Lakh. While its a good investment since pilots are given handsome salary along with lucrative additional perks, you should be able to arrange funds to complete the course. Eligibility 1. Must have passed 12th standard with PCM subjects. 2. Minimum of 50 percent marks in 12th. 3. Your age should be between 18 to 30 years. 4. The minimum height to apply for the course is 5 feet. 5. Only candidates with 6/6 vision are eligible. 6. Eye sight is correctable via glasses. No contact lens are allowed. 7. You should not have fear of height. Student's Pilot Licence You can apply for the student's licence even now. Any person who has completed 10th standard is eligible to apply for this licence. All you need to do is clear a basic maths test related to various aspects of the aircrafts. To clear the test you should be able to obtain 75 percent marks in it. Private Pilot Licence During the course of obtaining this licence, you will get the first experience of flying a plane. You can apply for this licence if you have completed 12th and already obtained the Student's Licence. An flying instructor will train you to fly the plane. You will have to gain 40 hours of flying experience with instructor and 20 hours of additional solo flying experience. After which a written test is required to be cleared. Commercial Pilot Licence This will be the final and most expensive stage of the course. Now since you are applying for Commercial licence, during the course you must obtain 250 hours of solo flying experience. There will be no instructor. It will be followed by series of written tests related to Air Regulations, Aviation Meteorology, Air Navigation etc. Once you have cleared the tests, a medical team by DGCA will conduct your medical test. After clearing it you will get the Commercial Pilot Licence. |

Re: How to become a Pilot after completing 12th standard
If you have passed 12th with science stream with atleast 50% marks then only you are eligibile to become Pilot. You have two options either to appear in NDA Exams (National Defence Academy) to be a part of Indian Air Force, Indian Navy and Indian Army which are held twice a year. Other option is obtain a Commercial Pilot License from flying schools which are recognized by DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation).
For obtaining CPL (Commercial Pilot License) Usually most of the schools conduct written entrance exam where questions are asked from Maths, Physics and current affairs. Then you will have to appear in interview and medical test. While training you will undergo minimum 185 hours solo flying + 25 hours of multi engine flying + 40 hours of simulation flying. Cost of CPL vary from 25-35 lacs in India depending on the type of Flying school. Following are the list of school providing CPL 1. Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi, Rae Bareli (IGRU)(wwww.igrua.gov.in) 2. Orient Flight School, Chennai (www.orientflights.com) 3. Puducherry Thakur College of Aviation 4. Institute of Aviation and Aviation Safety You can also obtain CPL from Abroad. United States of America, Philippines, In india you have to undergo 9-12 months of training however in abroad same training can be completed within 5-6 months. |
