how to go for pilot ?what i do to become pilot (not in air force or army force)
as an oridinary pilot so what all cource is there for become pilot and which engg is wanted to become pilot please give me full detail about cource of pilot and the college in mumbai and which all entrence exam is requried for pilot after 12 and where to regester my name for its entrance exam in mumbai

Basic educational qualification required to become a pilot is 12th exam with minimum 50% marks in Physics and Mathematics.
You must be 18 years of age. You have to appear for written examination followed by Aptitude test and interview.
After this, you are given SPL [Students Pilot License].
After 60 hours of flying, again a written test is conducted and if you pass, you are given PPL [Private Pilot License].
After 250 hours of flying and another written test, you get CPL [Commercial Pilot License], finally.
A renowned institution in Mumbai for pilot's training is Bombay Flying Club.
Estimated cost for PPL is 2 Lakhs and for CPL is 13 Lakhs.

There are total 3 stages for getting Licence to become Pilot. Each has its own eligibility criteria.

Stage I

Student Pilot License (SPL): It is an exam conducted by most of flying clubs. It cobers theoretical papers on subjects like- Air Regulations, Air Navigation etc. (Pilot Aptitude Test).

Eligibility: Candidate must be at least 16 years of age and must have passed 10th. A medical certificate of fitness, security clearance and a bank guarantee if Rs. 10,000/- are required.

Stage II

Private Pilot License (PPL): After acquiring SPL students will proceed towards PPL for the intial flying training. A Teacher/Instructor will be there to teach you the Practical aspects of flying a Aircraft.
Eligibility: 10+2 and Meidcal fitness certificate from AFCME or IAM.

Stage III

Commercial Pilot License (CPL): A student can get his/her CPL after completing flying training of about 129 hours. to complete 250 hours of flying.

Eligibility: 12th pass with at least 60% aggregate and must also have studied Mathematics and Physics, means science students. Candidate must also have PPL with at least flying experience of 3 years. Age should be 18-30 years and a Medical Clearance must be obtained from AFCME, New Delhi or IAM, Banglore.

Entrance exam is not the actual think that matter for pilot training, its money that matters most because aquairing CPL is niether an easy nor a less costly.

The best flying school in India is Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Udan Academy (IGRUA).Selection is through An entrance (WOMBAT) which is followed by an Interview and MEdical Fitness Test.


But becoming Pilot is very expensive course fees at IGRUA is 24,60,000 lacs (consession of 2 Lacs for SC/ST candidates).

However,you can select from the below mentioned instiutes,that will cost some what cheaper then IGRUA:-


Government Flying Training Institute,Kolkata.
Government Flying Training Centre, Lucknow.
Bangalore Aeronotics Technical Services Pvt Ltd., (BATS), Bangalore.
Tata Nagar Aviation, Jamshedpur
Flytech Aviation Ltd., Hyderabad
Teneja Aerospace and Aviation Ltd. Bangalore.

Private Institutes can cost anything upto 30 Lacs for complete course.
However, scholarship facilities are there but I dont think if any Indian Institute or Club has that facility, except IGRUA which has fee consession for SC/ST/OBC.

Minimum Eligibility: 50% marks in Physics and Mathematics.
So best option thange your field and repeat 11 with PCM
