First of all I would like to make you clear that you are not eligible for Indian Navy at this moment but once you complete your B.tech you will be eligible for the same but you will have to crack the CDS examination for joining the same.

CDS stands for Combined Defense Services and the examination is held by Union Public Service Commission two times every year. Also the examination is held in two stage out of which the first stage is known as Written examination and the stage second is called Service Selection Board interview.

The eligibility criteria for appearing in this examination are as following :-

* You must be an Indian citizen.

* Your age must be with in 19 years to 22 years.

* You must have completed your graduation with physics and mathematics or any engineering course from a recognized university.

* You must be physically and mentally tough as per the requirement norms.

Its good to know that you are interested to join the navy. Well for that you have to complete your graduation first. After that you can sit for CDS examination whose full form is Combined Defense Service Examination and this is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission twice every year.

By giving this examination you can join any one of the following wing:

• Indian Military Academy
• Naval Academy
• Air Force Academy
• Officer's Training Academy

Although the option of choosing a wing of your choice is in your hand but the final decision will be taken by the selection committee by assessing your overall performance in the written examination, interview session and physical test.

Eligibility at a glance:-

-Indian Military Academy: You need a degree from a recognized university.
Age: 19-24 years

-Indian Naval Academy: You need to have a bachelor's degree in science with Physics and Mathematics or a bachelor's degree in engineering.
Age: 19-22 years

-Air Force Academy: You need to have a B.Sc degree with Physics and Mathematics or B.Tech degree of four years' duration.
Age: 19-23 years

-Officer's Training Academy: You need to possess a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
Age: 19-25 years
