A candidate can apply for the CBI or CID through SSC Combined Graduate Preliminary Examination. This examination is conducted by the SSC every
year. You can apply for this examination after the completion of your
graduation. The eligibility criteria required for this examination is given
below.

Education Qualification
To apply for this examination a candidate should be graduate in any discipline
from a recognized university.
Those appeared in the final year examination are also eligible for this examination.

Age Limit
To apply for this examination a candidate age should be between
20 and 27 years.

Crime Branch CID (Criminal Investigation Department) is a specialised wing in many state police forces in India

of their Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Other branches of the CID are

• State Crime Investigation Bureau
• Finger Print Bureau
• and Scientific Section.

To join in CID you need to write the EXAM conducted by UPSC...!!
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) recruits Police personnel through the Civil Services Examination in three level

• (IPS cadre)
• State Public Service Commissions
• and by the District Police Headquarters.

Some of the police personnel selected via either of these routes are appointed by the CID on a regular posting if they have the requisite aptitude.
No separate notifications are issued for recruitment to the CID.

you may join cid by giving the exam conducted by upsc
the exam is called SHORT SERVICE COMMISION EXAM
after clearing the exam you will be called for physical fitness test

3) You should have scored at least 50% of marks in graduation level.

In second stage you can faced an interview which is contain 100 marks.
