Chartered Accountancy course can be pursued by candidates belonging to any stream. So, even if you belong to Arts stream, you will be considered eligible to register for the course.
The first stage of the Chartered Accountancy course is known as Common Proficiency Test and qualifying this test is compulsory for every individual willing to pursue the course. After qualifying the Common Proficiency Test, you will be able to register for Integrated Professional Competence Course as well as for Information Technology Training which will be followed by Articleship Training, Final Course as well as General Management and Communication Skill Course.
The registration process is carried out by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India throughout the year and the Common Proficiency Test can be taken either in the month of June or December.

As far as the cost of pursuing the Chartered Accountancy course is concerned, it is as follows:

Common Proficiency Course (CPC) Registration Fee: Rs.6000
Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) (Both Group) Registration Fee: Rs.9000
Articled Training Fee: Rs.2000
Final Course Registration Fee: Rs.10000
100 Hours Information Technology Training: Rs.4000
General Management and Communication Skill Course: Rs.3000
