I am a arts student without economics so plz tell can i join NDA/ Indian Army.

Of course. You can apply for NDA as you have done your 12 th
You can apply for army only as you have taken arts
The eligibility criteria for NDA are
-qualification 12th pass
-age limit is 16 1/2-19 years
-nationality Indian
-physically and medically fit
-minimum height 157 cms
-only male candidates can apply
NDA exam is conducted twice a year by UPSC
Notification appears in th e leading newspapers and employment news

NDA exams are conducted by UPSC two times in a year to fill the seats in the below wings of the defence services
Navy
Army
Airforce

Eligibilty to apply for the NDA exams is:
12th pass for the Army wing
12th pass with Phy and Maths as subjects for the Airforce and Navy wing

Age- Minimum 16.5 years
Maximum 19 years

Only Unmarried Male candidates can apply

Next NDA exams will be held on 11th August 2013
Notification will come out on 4th May 2013

So, if you meet the above eligibilty, than you can apply for the next NDA exams

An Arts student can join Indian Army through cracking NDA and CDS entrance exam depending upon one's educational qualification.

NDA - National Defence Academy conducted by UPSC twice every year- The candidate must be an unmarried Indian Male having either appear for 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good Physical Fitness.

CDA - Combined Defence Service conducted by UPSC twice every year -The candidate wishing to join Indian Army, must be an Indian unmarried Male having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 24 years with good Physical Fitness.

If you belong from the arts category then you cannot apply for the Indian air force wing in the NDA but you can apply for the army and the navy wing.
For joining the air force you need to be having physics and mathematics as your main subjects in 12th.
For giving the NDA exam your age should be in between 16-19.5 years of age. The exam is conducted by the upsc twice in an year.

Arts students are also eligible for NDA examination but they will be only eligible for Indian Army.

So if you want to join only Indian Army then you can definitely apply for NDA exam provided you fulfill other criteria.

There are 3 streams in which you can apply through NDA Exam.
But you have Arts Stream in,Thus you can apply for only :-
-->>Indian Army Wing.

Eligibility required for this :-

Marks :-

Dear Friend

There is nothing to worry if you are from Arts stream ,you are eligible for the National defense academy examinations organised twice every year by the UPSC.

But there is one thing that is you will be only allowed to join the Indian army if you clear the NDA exams.

Other than educational requirements ,you should fulfill the other requirements which are as follows:

>>Age:16.5 to 19 years.

>>Nationality: Indian.

>>Only male candidates are allowed for the exam.
