Re: How can an IAS officer become a district magistrate and collector?
IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services.
*When a candidate clears Civil Services examination and achieves a rank to get Indian Administrative Service. After that he has to undergo training at Lal Bahadur Shashtri National Academy of Administration. *When training is over, IAS candidates are posted as SDM in selected cadre's district. After 3-4 years of experience of service as SDM, he gets post of District magistrate or DM in that district. This is how an IAS officer become District magistrate. |
