You 'll have to qualify UCEED to get admission. There are two programmes for animation, B. Sc Graphics and B. Design in Graphics. B. Design in Graphics will take 4 years and B. Sc is a three year course. You need to qualify UCEED Exam for Graphic Design.

Only some govt institutions will take admission test. But learning there and becoming an animator is the real challenge. Always find out institutes who have studio experienced person as their faculty. And there should be specialised faculty for each and every roles. If you want to specialize in animation be sure to check the credentials of your anination faculty. Be careful that every person cannot teach high quality animation. He must have worked in good studio projects as animator. In case if he knows both classical and 3D animation then you are really lucky.

There are some less straight-forward art forms, like dance and theater. But in general, to learn art you just have to do it.

Animation is like that in one way; you can start learning drawing, and programs and the like. However, it’s generally a difficult thing to do; self-teaching animation is hard. I’m taking an independent study course for Maya, and it’s hard without the instruction of someone who knows what they’re doing in the program.

You can definitely be self-taught in the field, though. Animation, though, is a vastly collaborative art form; communication and connections, as with traditional filmmaking, is extremely important. That’s why animation school is so important; you’re making important connections for the workforce.

I’m still in high school, so I can’t say for certain how important schooling is in the field. However, I believe that it’s growing in importance.
