Barter International Maritime Studies BIMS trains ratings and Officers. Their courses are accredited by the Thailand Marine department and the Ministry of Education of Thailand. The certification acquired is world class in compliance with the requirements of the International Maritime Organisation as well as the relevant sections of the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) for Seafarers, 1978, as amended
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, participants are able to safely and competently carry out the on board merchant ships both at sea and in port. They will be conversant with the basic principles as per STCW Regulations VIII/2 & STCW Code Chapter VIII.

You can join for 6 months pre-sea course. The education profile needed is 10th with 40% marks from the recognized board. The students should study science with mathematics and in 10th standard and secure 40% in English separately. The students will evaluate on their spoken written skill in English and should apply to individual institutions separately. Application forms can download from the institution website. Fees vary according to the institutes you join and the pass-outs are getting attractive salaries also.
