Well its good that you want to join IAF and serve the country well.Yes you can join IAF as the minimum eligibility criteria is that you need to have minimum of 10+2 certificate and have studied maths and physics in your 10+2 standards.You can write two exams for joining IAF.NDA exam after 12 and CDS exam after graduation.After clearing the Test, you will be called to an Air Force Selection Board for Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) followed by a series of group tests, psychological tests and interview.For graduates the eligibility criteria is a BSc degree with Physics and/or Maths or BE/BTech Age: 19-23 years.You can visit this website.

Yes you can join IAF

The minimum eligibility criteria is that you need to have minimum of 10+2 certificate
have studied maths and physics in your 10+2 standards.

You can join the Indian Air force after completing the Mechanical engineering. You need to attend the CDS exam as part of it. You should be between the age group of 19-23 years. The candidates should be unmarried male candidates. The CDS exam is conducted by the UPSC twice in a year. The candidates have to attend the written examination. Those who qualify in the written examination have to attend the physical test also. If the candidate gets through the physical test, he can attend the personal interview. The final selection will be based on the performance in the personal interview.

You cannot join Indian Air Force with Diploma Course.So if your that much interest to join in Indian Air Force,then pursue graduation course in Engineering with any branch,you are interest.Then you have chance to join Indian Air Force.

After graduation,you can appear for CDS exam.This exam is conducted by upsc every year twice to take qualified student into different defense service that are

>>Indian Navy
>>Indian Army

Eligibility criteria for CDS(Indian Air Force) exam:
You should have complete graduation degree in Engineering from a recognized university.
And your age should be between 19 to 22 years.
Appearing for final exam or in final year of above mentioned program,can also appear for CDS exam.

CDS exam notification will release in the month of Oct and June every year.

I am sorry to say that you are not eligible for joining Indian Air Force after passing the diploma course.

You can join Indian air force after passing 12th with physics and maths.

or

After graduation/b.tech through Combine Defence Service Exam.

Both the exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year.


Eligibility criteria for N.D.A:-
> Pass 12th with any subject from recognized university
> Age limit:-16.5-19 year
> Medically fit

Eligibility criteria for C.D.S:-
> Pass graduation with any subject from recognized university
> Age limit:-19-24 year
> Medically fit

Yes you can join surely to IAF ( Indian Air Force ) after 12th. As you are studing in B.Tech 2nd year. So I think at first complete it then join to IAF and it will be beneficial to you also. Besides this your percentage is till now is so good that you can get a good job in IAF after B.Tech.
There are generally three branches and for these three branches there are three different eligible criteria.The three department are :

1. Flying Branch,
2. Technical Branch,
3. Ground Duty Branch.

The selection procedure are consist of two types which are :

1. AFCAT(Air Force Common Admission Test) and
2. Air Force Selection Boards(AFSB) .
