IAF Airman Non Tech Trades Entrance Exam Pattern
The Indian Air Force is one amongst the 3 wings of the Indian defense services. The Central Airmen Selection Board of the AIF carries out the IAF Airman Non Technical Trades examination for the employment of eligible candidates to the Non-Technical Trades department in the IAF.
The selection of candidates is done on base of a written test. Those who perform well in this part of the recruitment procedure shall be called in for a PI. Candidates who are selected are recruited in the Non Technical Grade jobs in the IAF. This includes forecasting the weather in addition to the maintenance of records etc. The IAF Non Tech Trades Entrance is carried out two times a year.
Eligibility criteria for the IAF Airman Non Tech Trades Entrance Exam
Students who are appearing for the IAF Airman Non Tech Trades exam ought to be less than 20 years when they apply. Age relaxation of 2 years is granted for Sc/St candidates. These are the rules of eligibility applicable for students:
- Students who have cleared their 10+2 with above 60 percent marks can apply.
- Students who have accomplished their 3 years Diploma course in Engineering can apply as well.
- Students who are applying for this test must have learned English, Mathematics and Physics in class 12.
- The certification of the diploma course must be from a recognized Institution.
Structure and Syllabus for IAF Airman Non Tech Trades Entrance Exam
The IAF Airman Non Tech Trades exam paper will comprise of two parts. They are:
- Part I - English Section
- Part II - Intelligence and General Knowledge Section
The questions asked for this exam will be of the objective type. Students will be provided with 3 – 4 options. They can choose the correct answer from any of these options.

Preparing for IAF Airman Non Tech Trades Entrance Exam
The first thing students need to do is to get a copy of the exam paper. They can thus understand the type of the questions that will be asked, the time limit and what and all portions they must learn before they appear for the exam. To cover the English and the GK part, students can read English newspapers, news journals and other magazines. Reading this will not only help to increase the vocabulary of the students but also to get more information about the current happenings in the society – nationally and globally.
Prior to appearing for the test, students can also practice talking with their friends. Practicing by this method will help to determine grammatical mistakes and help regain confidence. Students must also remember to manage their time correctly. Inefficient time management will make it difficult for students to answers all questions.
