How to join Indian Air Force?
In order to join the Indian Air Force, the aspirants have to under go an examination that is conducted by a special department of Government of India. This examination is known as the Union Public Service commission (UPSC). It acts as the gate way to many of the Central government jobs. The candidate has to get into a very respectful position if he/she clears this examination successfully. It is for this reason, every candidate dreams of clearing off this examination. This entrance examination consists of two parts called the prelims and the mains. The maximum short listing is carried out in prelims.
The Civil Service Examinations are carried out by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) so as to fill the various vacant positions in the government sector across the country. It is conducted for 23 government services of India and Union Territories. Some of the aspired services are Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Air Force (IAF), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Administrative Service (IAS) etc. The Civil Service examinations are being conducted in a number of cities across the country.
The Union Public Service Commission conducts Civil Service examinations every year. The candidates those who get qualified for the preliminary examination will be intimated about the mains examination. Preliminary exam consists of written examination where as the mains consists of a written exam as well as an interview.
Application Procedures
There is a common application form for the examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission of India. The aspirant has to fill the section according to the examination for which he/she intends to apply. Application forms can be obtained from all the head post offices of the country. Form has to be filled up according to the instructions given in the notification that has been published in the newspapers.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates those who wish to apply for this examination must be unmarried and the age of the candidate should fall between 19 and 21 years. The aspirant must be an Indian national as prescribed by the chief association members. The applicant must have completed 12th standard examination from any one of the recognized schools in order to meet the eligibility requirements. For joining the National Defense Academy, the candidates have to be physically fit according to the physical standards set by the UPSC.
Application Requirements
There are different ways to get an admission to the Indian Air force. The candidates can join after completing the 12th standard level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the major subjects. Graduates in B.Tech Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics/Computer are also eligible to apply for the entrance examination.
