Yes, you can join Indian army even if you are belonging to Civil department of engineering.

For this, you will have to apply for CDS exam i.e. Combined Defence Services.

Recently, CDS exam was conducted on 5 February 2017

Last date to apply was 2nd December 2016

However, next CDS exam notification will release in the coming months.

You can apply to anyone of the following wings of CDS:

• IMA and OTA Academy
• Navy Academy
• Air Force Academy
