Re: How to make a career in Astrophysics?
dear friend
If you want to be an astronomer or astrophysicist then you will need a Ph.D. Most uni's don't have astronomy or astrophysics as an undergraduate degree..... So go to the best university that you are accepted to and feel is a good fit for you. thanks |

Re: How to make a career in Astrophysics?
Dear friend,
You have to study the astro physics related physics like space physics, particle physics etc. After your graduation in physics you can go for Master's degree in specialized physics courses in reputed IITs, or NITs. When you complete your M.Sc then go for Phd or research field in space physics. So find out the institute you want to join.. Best wishes.. |

Re: How to make a career in Astrophysics?
Hello everybody ,
After m.sc physics you can go in research field. You would be eligible for NET exam. A general Master in Physics can fetch you some of the better jobs like- Teaching, Fellowships, Apprentice, Lab Technician, etc. jobs. you can also go in research field. After Msc Physics you easily get a good job and you have to tried for research..Lets see what are the opportunities are there for you after completing m.sc physics- You can become a lecturer after cracking net exam, you can go in the field of research and development, job opportunities in networking and many other companies are there. Thank You |

Re: How to make a career in Astrophysics?
Hi Friend.................
Scope of Astrophysics Due to the lack of proper counselling in colleges or incomplete information from faculty members makes students to opt for the courses which is known in common. Most of the students after completion of their B.Sc physics opts for M.sc Physics, Master in computer application (MCA) or MBA, MSC Biophysics, GRE. but besides the above courses I would like to add one more suitable course which is known as Astrophysics course, have wide range of scope in India as well as in abroad. Astrophysics can be studied at the bachelors, masters, and Ph.D. levels in aerospace engineering, physics, or astronomy departments at many universities. In details, Astrophysics is the branch of astronomy that deals with the physics of the universe, including the physical properties (luminosity, density, temperature, and chemical composition) of celestial objects such as galaxies, stars, planets, exo planets, and the interstellar medium, as well as their interactions. The study of cosmology is theoretical astrophysics at scales much larger than the size of particular gravitationally-bound objects in the universe. Individual on completion of this course can become scientist in ISRO or can go abroad in research and development field |

Hiiiiiiiiiiii,
In India, there are several astronomical institutions including IIA where astronomers are employed. Other opportunities are in the big government institutions such as ISRO and DRDO all the best |
