There is no clear information about this in the official website of PSC,WB but one thing to understand is it is following all the norms based on the UPSC examinations.

So based on that if we take UPSC as reference
you are eligible till you reach your max age limit i.e.,
in case of general candidates 4 attempts are allowed till 30 years of age for you.

in case of OBC reserved Category 7 attempts are allowed to you till 33 years of age
3 years of extra relaxation is given to the OBC candids.

in case of SC/ST reserved Categories no limit on attempts just you have to attempt till you reach your max age limit of 35 years , 5 years of relaxation is given to you if you are Sc/ST candidates.

So i think you got an Idea on this. In every notification you will clearly get to know the eligibility criterion so have a look at it.

dear friend, west bangal civil service exam providing a number of attempts for various category:
for general candiate: 4 attempts
for obc candidate: 7 attempts
for sc/st candidate: no. they allow no. of attmept before upper age limit

Dear friend,

The CIVIL SERVICE EXAM is conducted by UPSC in every year.

Those are graduate are applicable for civil service exam.

But your University must be recognized.

But your age should be between 21 to 30 years.

Age relaxation is provide 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidate.

NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS:

4 attempts for General category candidates
7 attempts for OBC category candidates
Unlimited attempts for sc/st category candidates

the exam is conducted once in a year and you have the below attempts

Every candidate appearing at the Civil Services Examination permitted four attempts at the examination.

for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates there is no restriction in number of attempts.

to Other Backward Classes shall be seven.

West Bengal Civil Service Exams

The rules for West Bengal Civil Service Exams are same as the Indian Civil Service Exams

Eligibility Criteria :-

1) You need to be a graduate in any stream from a recognized college

2) You should be within the age limit of 21-30 years for general category,21-33 years for OBC and 21-35 years for SC/ST

The maximum number of attempts allowed for the general category is 4,for OBC and for SC/ST there is no limit..

Exam Pattern :-

There are 2 rounds for clearing this exam

1) Prelims :- This consists of 2 objective papers which shall test your aptitude,general knowledge and current affairs..

2) Mains :- If you clear the Prelims then you shall be eligible for the Mains where your knowledge of the graduation subjects shall be tested..

If you clear both the rounds then you shall be eligible for the interview and the final selection..

How many attempts are allowed for West Bengal Civil Services Exams?

There is no any clearence regarding that but according to me it will follow the follwoing rules .

• Age Limit -21 to 30 years .
  
• There has been a proposal of age relaxation upto 3 years for obc candidate and 5 years for sc/st candidate.
  
• Number of Permissible Attempts :4 for general category students , 7 for obc candidate and unlimited for sc/st candidate
  
• Educational Qualification- Graduation with any stream from a recognized board or university.
