How many attempts are allowed for IES exam?
For how many times i can write the exam(IES and Engineering services exam)....?

Both these exams are conducted by UPSC. The instructions for these exams are all the same. You have 4 chances to clear the exam. In case you are from SC/ST there is a relaxation in this rule. You have 7 chances to clear the exam.

Normally for IES exam You have to be a graduate from any recognised university in electrical,civil,mechanics,electronics and telecommunication.
For this exam you can try upto 4 times.. regards, yash |

Hi,
*If you are a general category candidate, you can write the exam 4 times. *However OBC candidates there is relaxation of 3 years that means they write the exam 7 times. *SC/ST candidates have no limit. They can appear any number of times for the exam. |

hello dear
see, it is depends upon your current age. as you know age limit of IES Exam is 21-29. so as a general student can appear 8 times. all the best................. |

The number of attempts allowed for IES exam * For General category candidates it is - 4 attempts. * For SC/ST candidates category it is - No limit. * For OBC candidates category - 7 attempts. Best wishes |

To appear in IES exam, you have be a graduate in:
1. civil engineering 2. machanical engineering 3. electrical engineering 4. electronics engineering Maximum attempts for: An General candidate is 4. An OBC candidate is 7. An ST/SC candidate NO LIMIT. |

But you have not tell us from which stream of engineering , you have cleared your B.tech\ B.E. degree. there is one thing I would like to tell you, CS (computer science) engineering candidates are not eligible for the IES examination. Through IES exam, there is a recruitements of various engineering post in various engineering fields like civil, mining, electrical departments etc etc.This examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) every year. Educational requirements -- A Candidate must possess a B.TECH\ B.E or equivalent degree in any one of the streams that I have given below-- 1. CIVIL ENGINEERING BRANCH 2. MECHANICAL ENGINEERING BRANCH 3. ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING BRANCH 4. ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING BRANCH AGE LIMIT-- 21-30 years for the general candidates, 21-33 years for the obc candidates, 21-35 years for the sc\st candidates.
