After completing your MBA examination you can apply for CDS examination.

CDS Stands for Combined Defence Service examination and this examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice in a year.

To apply for this examination,the candidate need to completed graduate degree from a recognized University and final year of degree course may also eligible to apply for this examination.

The candidate age should be between 19 years and 24 and Unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply for this examination but pre-final year of candidate may not eligible to apply for this examination.

If you want to join IMA, you have to crack the CDS Examination.


The CDS stands for Combined Defense Services Examination. This CDS Examination is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) twice in a year.

You can crack this exam you can go for three wings:
• Indian Air Force
• Indian Navy
• Indian Military Academy


Eligibility Criteria for CDS Examination:

• The candidate must have to complete graduation in any stream from a recognized university.
• The age limit in between 19 to 24 years. There is no relaxation.
• The candidate must be citizen of India.
• And the candidate must be medically fit.

Yes, you can join Indian Army after MBA through CDS provided you are within the permissible age as prescribed by CDS.

CDS-COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE exam conducted by UPSC twice every year for entry in to Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officer's Training Academy.

The eligible candidate must be an unmarried Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 25 years with sound physical fitness.

As you have already passed Graduation being a Master in Business Administration, you may be eligible to appear for Indian Military Academy provided you should be within the age of 19 to 24 years. After successfully crack the CDS exam followed by personal Interview and Medical Test you may join IMA.
