>> Candidates have a bachelor of degree in any stream from any recognized university,

5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates

3 years relaxation for OBC candidates

There is no specific exam as IPS entrance exam, to become an IPS(Indian Police Service) officer, one has to crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year.

The candidate opting for IPS, Civil Service exam should have minimum physical requirement such as:-

HEIGHT should be 165cm for General/OBC Male and 150cm for Female candidate while it should be 160cm for SC/ST Male and 145cm for Female candidate and the weight will be as proportionate with height of a candidate.

CHEST should be 84cm for Male and 79cm for Female candidate.

Apart from this the eligible candidate must be an Indian national having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream froma recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with good Physical Fitness.

Chest:

Min. 84 cm and expansion 5cm

Eye Sight:

-Good eye: 6/6 or 6/9

-Worst Eye: 6/12 or 6/9

Education Requirements:

Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University. Must be an Indian Citizen.

Age Limit:

21 to 30 years is the age limit for General category candidates but other reserved category candidates will get age relaxation.

SC/ST - 5 years relaxation

OBC - 3 years relaxation

Selection Procedure:

-Preliminary Exam

-Mains Exam

-Interview

Number of attempts are limited for General with 4 attempts and OBC with 7 attempts. SC/ST candidates can apply till they exceed their age limit.

Open and OBC category- minimum height needed is 162.5 cms
SC/ST category- minimum height needed is 162.5 cms

your weight should be proportional to your height as per the airforce physical standards.

6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.

You should not be suffering from color or night blindness.



Height

if you are a male belonging to general/OBC/SC,then you must have a minimum height of 165 cms(5ft 6inches) but if you belong to ST,you must at least have a height of 162.5 cms(5ft 5in).there are no specifications on weight but it should be proportionate to height and age depending on the medical standards in force.

if you are a female,then you must have a minimum height of 155 cms for general/OBC/SC but it is 154 cms for ST candidates.and weight should be proportional to height and age as per the medical standards in force

Physical requirement:-
