UPSC is a govt body which does various Human Resource Management Acts like

->Conducting Entrance examinations for various govt openings

->Checking the best persons for a right post through personal interviews and so on.

->Giving the postings and continuously monitoring the people who are recruited

->Promoting or demoting the employees according to their performances.

->Giving all the facilities to take work from them perfectly.

these are few works by upsc there are lot of works done by them which i can't list in a single page

Anyways I will list few examinations conducted by UPSC

->CSE(Civil Service Examination) which you have to write to become IAS,and also give jobs as IPS,IFS,Group A and Group B services.

->SSC(Staff Selection Committee) Some Intelligence Service oriented jobs are got by cracking this entrance examination.
