The GATE 2011 is not is very close now. At this critical time you should not divert yourself in activities other than studies. I can understand that a significant amount of your time use to be spent in your college and that happens with every final engineering students. GATE is based on basic knowledge about your engineering stream. So one's performance depends only on concepts and not on theoretical quantity you study. As far as good utilization of time is concerned, you should be self motivated for your future goals. You are a final year student, if you take up a job you will be taking big decisions after one or two year. So you must be very good in managing time taking decisions in your own life wisely to find out the priorities of different works. Your current priority is only GATE and nothing else, so be it. Till GATE you should spend at least 4-5 hours a day in studies after your classes finish. During preparation you should also check yourself after certain period of time by practicing old GATE question papers. Download GATE question papers from www.onestopgate.com/downloads/ Two-three months of sincere and hard work may take you to top institutions of India and then enjoyment whole life. Thank You |

Re: How to utilize time to prepare effectively for GATE exams?
Yes of course dear as your GATE exam date is near you must be specific what are you doing . look one thing about gate exam that i have observed is that you will get a lot of time to solve a question and you need not to solve more than 40 question to get into IIT so prepare for the subjects in which you are strong and don't go for theory portion now its time to sit quietly and solve as much question as you can. practicing question will make you strong in what you have studied and will increase your confidence be calm and make concepts clear that is only a key to crack gate and get into good institute.

Re: How to utilize time to prepare effectively for GATE exams?
Try to solve GATE previous year pattern as it will give you a experience about the pattern and your ability to solve it and according to that you start your preparation......
If you are not able to solve previous year paper then better to join institutes....... Remember one thing there is no age limit to write GATE and GATE score are valid for 2years..... so prepare well and try to solve previous year question papers as much as you can..... |

Re: How to utilize time to prepare effectively for GATE exams?
hi!
GATE is one of the toughest exam in India for admission to MTech. Courses. So, you must prepare well by devoting your full time to your studies. Don’t worry if your percentage in university exams is low as GATE admissions do not consider them. Just maintain minimum percentage required by many colleges including IIT’s. Your focus at this time must be only on cracking the GATE exam. Start your studies right now, brushing up the basics since the questions of GATE are usually the derivation of fundamentals. Solve as many papers as you can. Group study is one of the best ways of preparation. This will save your time and efforts and will improve your and your partner’s understanding on the topic. |

Re: How to utilize time to prepare effectively for GATE exams?
Hey if you wish to go through GATE then its better that you be strong in your basic concepts like the operating characteristics of Diode,Transistor,Op-Amp,FET,JFET,Common Emitter characteristics,Common emitter characteristics,Common collector characteristics and other such basic concepts.
So get strong in subjects like Electronic devices and Circuits,Pulse Devices and Circuits,Digital Integrated circuits and other such subjects which are important for you. Keep going through the old question papers of GATE so that you get clear idea about the exam. You need to be even strong in mathematical subjects to get through GATE. all the best |
