Yes, you can practise bachelor of dental surgery in USA but there are certain terms and conditions. First of all, you have to get a liecense for practising. Mainly the liecense is provided to the green card holders of USA.

No fees is required for practising BDS in USA. Instead it will fetch you a good earning. And hence, you might know from my last remark that how difficult it is to get a practising liecense.

I am sorry.As per as I know,US does not accept BDS licensed from India or any other country.So if you want to proceed your career in US as a dentist then you have to go US and again practice BDS & DDS from there.Then after you must be DDS from US also and then must get licensed through one of the boards (eastern, california, etc..) to be able to practise in US.

no . u cannot practice in US untill u complete a 2 year DDS program for internationally trained dentists....
1st u need to apply for nbde exam, clear the exam....
nxt get admission in any of d dental schools in US to do a 2 year DDS program ....
after dis u can practise in US as a regular dentist....

it takes 80-90lacs rupees to do DDS, but then the recovery is quite easy after dds...

u require a US greencard holder to sign as a cosigner for loans....

Can any one tell me the changes in nbde exams after 2012? Is it like we have to go for four year dental programme instead of two years in USA? Is it going to be more tougher for Indian dentists?

I did my BDS in India and went to Australia to start my career.. I have cleared the 2 steps in Australia and I am practicing now as a dentist. Now, I would like to move to USA as my husband is a software engineer there. If I go to USA, can I start my practise with my Indian BDS and Australian license? Or should I again pursue DDS to start my practise in USA?

After completing BDS (a bachelor degrepe) after 12th grade(+2) from India you can do nothing in USA.
Even you are not eligible to apply any license to practice dentistry.

In USA to became general dentist , you have to complete 12 years high school and do four years course in any major but fulfill all the pre-dentistry requirements. Once you complete pre dentistry requirements and obtain 4 years bachelor degree appear for DAT exam , With DAT score you can apply any dental school to study 4 years DDS ( a doctoral degree in dentistry). In between start writing National Board exams Part I & II . Once graduated , you are eligible to appear for final licencing exam. Once you get licence then only you are eligle to practice dentistry in USA ( USA graduate )

Your BDS degree is a bachelor degree and it is not recognized in USA.
To recognize your indian education first write Natioal board Part I & II. Once you get results then you can apply International DDS program available in few university. 2 years course tution fees varies from $100, 000 to $150, 000 for 2 years. Admissions are very cometative all the bright international students from many country may compete very few spots (20 to 30 seats) per program.

Once you complete DDS you are eligible to apply for licencure exam. Pass practical board exam to get license to practice.

Getting DDS degree and getting board license is two different procedures. Getting university degree will not allow you to practice dentistry like India. Several university DDS student fail in the board exams. Until you pass board exam you can not practice dentistry even you hold an Hardvard University DDS degree.
