i would like to if there are any government jobs available for mechanical engineering students. i am currently in my final year

Final year engineering graduates are eligible to attend GATE exam. Qualifying the exam, will help you to have opportunities with PSU like IOCL, NTPC, etc. After completing the courses, you can join engineering services by qualifying IES exam. State government as well as state Transport Corporation also offers adequate opportunities. Also you can apply for Section/Junior Engineer position in railways.

You need to appear for GATE exam as most PSU takes candidate based GATE exam.

You will be getting jobs in best PSU such as

- EIL
- SAIL
- BHEL
- ONGC
- HPCL

- Coal India etc

Of course there are many government jobs where a mechanical engineer can apply.

You can apply for --

Civil Services

IES

Bank Jobs

Railway jobs

PSUs

Civil services jobs like IAS and IPS can be given by any graduate. You can apply for civil services exam after completing B.Tech. You should be in the age group of 21 years to 30 years.

IES or Indian engineering services can be given by any mechanical engineer whose age is between 21 years to 30 years.

Then you can also apply for bank specialist officer jobs.

There are many technical jobs for engineers in railways.

You can apply to various Public sector undertakings like --

GAIL, BHEL, SAIL, IOC, ONGC, DRDO etc.
