Yes IT is avery good field and is among the emerging fields.
IT plays a very important role in all fields as it helps to control the information that is relevant to the particular area. all spheres of activity have their share of information be it routine office work, education, household activites, sports etc. you'll always need to keep track of what is happening within and outside, and IT will help you there.
