Re: JAVA or .NET: Better course for B.Tech (ECE) student?
Java is better.
because Java is open source and .net is costly comapre to Java. so small caompanies are depend on open source. |

Re: JAVA or .NET: Better course for B.Tech (ECE) student?
Being you are a ECE student why you are switching to software field. It is better to course in your core related area.
If you want to switch to software field, then do DOT NET course. Because of it is GUI one can easily creates UI(user interface) very easily. so small companies always choosing DOT NET Framework |

Re: JAVA or .NET: Better course for B.Tech (ECE) student?
JAVA is a programing language and .NET is a web devlopment.all works is possible in java Eg. games, web devlopment, software application etc. But .NET is provides limited features .
java is platform independent(means works any os).java is higly secure path avilable. java future for that language. your ECE branch so u r related communcation help of hardware.so java is more useful for future bcoz java is devlop any embdeed software from hardware.java gives a platform to any application . |

Both languages are used for web application. Java is easy language as compare to .net language and if you have knowledge about c and c++ language then its very good to learn java. Java used syntax of c language and methods of c++. The other one is .net language. Its also a good language but i suggest you for java. You are an ece student so java is also used in embedded system. Isuggest you to choose java language. It have more scope as compare to .net. all the best |

Re: JAVA or .NET: Better course for B.Tech (ECE) student?
java is a world wide language, java is a platform independent language.
before 4 or 5 years all the work was done in the .net but now it is all occupied by the java language. you should choose the java language because it gives better scope for the future. it is also very very attractive by its many feature like OOP, platform in dependency etc. best of luck |

Re: JAVA or .NET: Better course for B.Tech (ECE) student?
Hi
Java is a programming language released in 1995 as a core component of Sun Micro systems Java platform. Its regarded as one of the best programming languages of all times, and it consists of two parts : 1. CORE 2. ADVANCED Whereas .NET Framework is a software framework that runs primarily on Microsoft Windows. It includes a large library and supports several programming languages. Its basically a platform, and so in the Computer Science Engineering this it not taught by default. Now the JAVA is a free development software, but the Microsoft .NET is paid, and one has to purchase it. Also since the scope of both of these are equally at par in India and its IT companies, most of the people prefer Java. It tickles your concepts of C, and C++ and inculcates the basics of programming in your system. For an ECE student, I think that Java would be more fruitful later on. Regards #RJ# |

hi,
AS you are ECE student you can go with the electronics related such as embedded systems, control systems,robotics......etc which are interesting too. If you are interested to go with the private IT companies such as Infosys,IBM,Tcs.....etc better you go with this java and .net. Usually many companies offer job regarding .net so beteer you go with the .net. As also have a little knowledge of java. All the best..... |

hi friend,
ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING (E.C.E) IS THE MOST FAMOUS BRANCH IN ENGINEERING. THE ADVANTAGE OF THIS BRANCH IS THAT YOU CAN EASY GET SOFTWARE JOBS ALSO ALONG WITH THE JOBS THAT TAKES BY TE CORE COMPANIES. AS YOU HAVE SELECTED FOR THE SOFTWARE COMPANY , YOU DO WELL PRACTICE OF THE COMPUTER LANGUAGES LIKE JAVA , .NET THEN YOU CAN GO AHEAD IN YOUR JOB . AS YOU THINK THE COMPUTER LANGUAGES JAVA , .NET ARE TOUGH, THEY CAN BE LEARNED EASY IF YOU PUT SOME CONCENTRATION UPON IT.. ALL TH BEST.... |

Re: JAVA or .NET: Better course for B.Tech (ECE) student?
Hello Friend,
Both JAVA and .NET are good one. If you decided for JAVA you have to go for complete JAVA in the sense both core JAVA and J2EE it takes more duration. .NET is also better option which takes less time compared to JAVA. |
