IPS stands for Indian Police services and to become IPS officer you have to apply for the UPSC Civil services examination, this examination is conducted in two stages, preliminary and Mains and firstly you have to cracked the Preliminary examination, after completing Preliminary examination, you are eligible for Mains, There are two Objective papers in Preliminary examination.

To apply for this examination you have to complete your Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university. Final year appearing candidates are also apply for this examination.

The examination Notification Published in the month of February every year.

Eligible candidates may fill the application form online only from the official website.

Please prepared well for this examination as per the pattern and syllabus. You can download the syllabus from the official website of UPSC.

Last Year IPS Question Papers

To be eligible to write the IPS Examination or the Civil Services Examination..a candidate must satisfy the following requirements :-

1) The age requirement for appearing in the Civil Services Exam is 21 to 30 years (age relaxation as per government rules for reserved categories)

2) Graduation is necessary for all the candidates appearing in the examination..

3) General category candidates have 4 attempts as their maximum limit..7 is the limit for OBC candidates and there is no restriction for SC/ST candidates..

The written Examination pattern for the IPS Exam is as follows :-

Stage -1 Prelims with 2 objective papers based on general awareness and aptitude same as that for the IAS candidates..

Stage-2 3 subjective papers based on English, General Studies and Essay Writing..
