iam studing BE mechanical engineering ,after completing my study i have a aim of studing marine engineering ,so i need a details about marine engineering and i also need a details about indian navy because i also have some interset on that ,so please give me some information about that , and also give a details about what are other things that i can join.

You should be unmarried and between 19.5 to 25 years of age , also you need to mentally as well as physically sound so as to apply for it ..

The admission notifications are notified in the month of october and november for which you need to read " employment news " continuously ..

As you are interested for marine engg. and Indian navy for that i will suggest you that you have to go for Indian navy through university entry scheme. every year indian navy select the candidates for ssb through university entry scheme for the selection in Indian navy as an officer so you will go for that .

Any Ship/Cruise requires 2 major persons to make the sail efficiently
i) Captain and ii) Marine Engineers.

So, Marine Engineering is all about Maitanance, repair and to check the effient functioning of sea going Vessel. Engine Room is the main site of work for Marine Engineers.

MArine Engineer in INS

Well, generally Marine Engineers are recruited in INS under Short Service Commission for a work period of 10 years extendable upto 14 years and if required then permanent commission is also granted depending upon the requirements.

Age Limit for candidate with bachelor degre is 25 years while 27 years for Master degree holders.

Notification are released in Employment News, basically in the moth of Aprils-September keep it reading.

You , Being a mechanical engineer, You can take the technical entry to SSC. Normally, Indian navy will communicate the recruitment details directly to some top institutes. Do check with your college administration. Do keep checking the Employment news paper for Navy recruitment. Mechanical Engineers hold special consideration in Indian navy. You can do marine engineering through bits exam.
The college which you will get for it will be affiliated from BITS.

And for Indian navy you will have to fill the form which is for graduates.
This form you will either get in newspaper Times of India or you may even contact your book seller for the same.

Yes you can opt marine engineering course after mechanical engineering course. Many institute in india do offer this course like Omega maritime etc.. These institute have jobs in merchant navy and marine engineering , you just have to fulfill their training criteria and after that you will be recruited there at a pay package of more than a 1.5lacks. Indian navy do offer post in technical field but they dont offer such a huge amout although you will get many facilities in compasation for that.
One disadvantage of this job is that you will stay in ocean for the period of 4 month and two months for home . Some time it follows a 5:1 schedule.

Diploma in Nautical Science
Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS)
Higher National Diploma (HND) in Nautical Science
Presea Training for Diploma Holders (DME)
