me getting 80-90in maths and 250 in paper 2 can i clear nda1

Hello dear friend..........
As maths is the core subject for NDA, it requires speed, short cuts,techniques and calculation aids......
in order to clear NDA exams you need to score 300 marks in maths exams which will be of 150 mins.......
and you need to score 600 marks in the general ability test which will be of 150 mins and a total marks of 900 is required to clear NDA.......

although the cutoff for nda are never disclosed .....but if you are sure of getting the marks you have mentioned then .......it will qualify the exam.......

i am saying this by my own experience.......i myself qualified my all attempts.....

the cutoff many a times depends upon the average score of all the students appearing for the exam.......like if many students score higher than in maths then......the cutoff of the exam increases....

you can also make it out by the level of the questions asked ....if they were difficult or easy.........if they were difficult then the cutoff will be low......

Its a bit difficult for u to clear the exam, as u are saying that you are getting 74 in maths which is very less.
In General awareness its ok but in maths tou wont be able to clear.

i have many friends who appeared in the written exam of nda & the most stupidest of them got 30 question correct (when he checked his responses). (it was nda second 2009). & he got selected for the ssb (only to come short of the final merit list after ssb &the medical exam(poor guy). so,i can suggest you that you should get 30 questions correct
don't go after the "24" thing .

According to me you can clear NDA-I
according to your marks u can easily get into it

By the way one can never estimate the cut-off

You need to score aminimum of 350 marks in mathematics to get into NDA-1

You need to score near about 60%. Try to get as much as marks in maths, as it is one of the most important subject. BEST OF LUCK

me getting 38 questions right and 18 questions wrong in maths. And iam getting about 250 in general ability is there any chance for me to get in

Marks required in Mathematics to clear NDA-I varies every year i.e cut off varies every year
You have to prepare well for and to sit for this exam your age must be within 19 years

Is it true that if one does not qualify in maths his general ability paper will not be checked in nda exams?

i have attempted 47 questions in maths out of which 37 are correct and 90 questions in GAT out of which 73 are correct in NDA-2 will i get a call for SSB

which book is best for maths nda.

Its true that you need to cross the cut-off of both the papers. So answer for your query is Yes, of course.
But there is nothing written on the UPSC website so I can't exactly (openly) tell you that if you don't qualify one the other won't be checked!

You just keep in mind that you have to do so well that you cross both cut-offs.

cut off is never decided .................it is prepared afterward depending on the average ............so just attempt he paper with full hard work

section two is sub divided into so many parts so attempt the best practiced
part first .......................don't worry with little effort you can clear the exam

300 marks in math is secure in NDA I if you get overall 900+...

For NDA-1 exam it is not at all easy to decide just by having a look on one's percentage and their marks.

Every time the cut-off is going to be changed.

Sometimes it may be on the number of people who score more in Mathematics, cut off will be high

Some other times it may be on the basis of questions type.

If there are more number of easy questions, cut off will be high and vice versa.

i got a total of 319 out of 900 and i was not selected for ssb

sir,
i have secured 453 marks in nda 2 2010 written exam and have been recomended in ssb.In ssb my confrence was of 10 minutes so does it mean that i was a border case and they have given me less marks in ssb.how it will affect my rank in merit list.
