Are married female candidates allowed to take the JRF NET exam?


My wife completed M.Sc Microbiology from Acharya Nagarjuna University via distance mode of education. Is she eligible to appear for the Junior Research Fellow NET exam?

NET refers to National Eligibility Test and the same test is held by CBSE on the behalf of UGC for recruitment as assistant professor or to provide Junior Research Fellowship ( JRF ) in various universities of India.

As far as you are concerned about the eligibility for NET JRF then it is mentioned as below :-

i) You must hold the nationality of India with your age not exceeding 28 years. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved category candidates as per the government norms.

ii) You must have completed your master degree course with at least 55% marks from a recognized university. Marks relaxation of 5% is allowed for reserved category candidates.

So, being a married female candidate you are eligible for appearing in NET JRF if you have managed the required percentage of marks in your master degree course as mentioned above and your university is a UGC approved open university.

NET JRF stands for National Eligibility Test Junior Research Fellowship. The NET examination are conducted by CBSE.

Eligibility Criteria:

Those candidate have completed Master Degree from recognized university are eligible for NET exam.

Candidate must secure minimum of 55% marks in Master's Degree. 5% relaxation for reserved category.

Age limit: 19 - 28 years.

You are eligible to appear JRF NET as you fulfill the above criteria.

Married female candidates are eligible for National Eligibility Test.

NET is conducted by CBSE twice every year. The eligibility criteria for exam is:

1. You should have done master's degree from a recognized university.

2. Your percentage of marks in master's degree must be minimum of 55%.

The upper age limit for JRF is 28 years. No upper age limit for lectureship.

Yes, married female candidates are allowed to sit for JRF NET exam. As per the

given eligibility criteria given on CBSE website, a women candidate is given a

relaxation of 5 years that is minimum age 21 years and maximum age is 33

years.

Eligibility criteira of UGC JRF NET examination are:-

Candidate must have secured at least 55% marks to General or 50% marks to SC/ST/PWD in Master's Degree or equivalent examination from universities recognized by UGC.

Candidate who have appeared or will be appearing at the qualifying Master's Degree (final year) examination or whose result is still awaited may also apply for this test.

Candidate's age must not be more than 28 years at the time of filling up the form.

JRF stands for Junior Research Fellowship and the examination for the recruitment on the above post is conducted by the UGC twice every year through the NET examination.

NET stands for National Eligibility Test and the examination is conducted for the recruitment of the candidates as Lecturer or JRF. The eligibility to appear for the examination is:

Candidate must have passed Master's Degree from the recognized university.

Candidate must have minimum of 55% aggregate in the Master's Degree.

Candidate age must be less than the 28 years for the JRF.

So, yes you can appear for the JRF or Lecturer post.

Hello,
Yes, the married candidates also eligible to appear for the JRF NET Exam if they fulfill the complete educational and age limit criteria.

if you have posses the post graduation degree with minimum 55% marks and are above 30 years then you can apply for the UGC NET exam .
There are no age limit criteria for the lectureship.

I married after my graduation and changed my name after marriage. Now I'm aiming to crack NET JRF and do PhD. Do I have to face any problem due to name change during PhD Registration or activating Jrf scholarship?? Pls help %uD83D%uDE4F
