BITS pilani is a complete university and there are many courses available in the campus of the BITs pilani both online and offline. And for every course, there is different eligibility criteria.
But for the main course of BITS pilani,that is, its engineering the eligibilty is-
You should have to appear in BITSAT(Birla Institute of Technology and Sciene admission Test), the exam conducted by BITS pilani for the entrance for the under graduation in engineering for its campuses of pilani, goa, hyderabad and dubai.
The minimum requirement to sit in this exam is that you should be having an aggregate of minimum 80% marks in senior secondary school examination.
Then on the merit of your BITSAT, you’re allowed to get admission in the BITS.

Dear Friend

BITS stands for the Birla Institute of Technology .It is located at Pilani and has other branches at Goa and abroad campus is in Dubai.

It is deemed university and offers lots of undergraduate and post graduate courses in engineering ,pharmacy ,science etc .You query is incomplete as you have not mentioned for for which course you want minimum marks required.

From my point of view ,I think that you are asking about what is required % of marks in 10+2 to appear for the BITS entrance exam called BITSAT as you cannot get direct admission in it on basis of % of marks.

BITSAT is a computer based online test .

>>For appearing for the entrance exam ,you must have secured at least 80% marks in the subjects physics ,chemistry and mathematics with english as compulsory subjects in 10+2.

>>There is one way to get direct admission that if you are a board topper of any recognized board then you can get admission directly without giving entrance exam.

BITSAT exams is conducted by BITS PILANI for admission to the BE/Btech Programmes


Eligibilty for the BITSAT exams is;
>> 12th Class Pass
>> Subjects in class 12th should be Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, english
>> Candidate should have scored minimum 60% marks in individual subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics
>> Total aggregate percentage of marks in subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics should be 75% marks
>> Candidate should have passed the English Subjects

BITSAT exams are held in the month of May
Forms would come out in January 2014


Only candidates who have passed the 12th Class in the year 2013 and will pass in the year 2014 can apply for the BITSAT exams that will be held in 2014

For taking admission in Under-Graduate Engineering or Integrated Engineering course in BITS Pilani you will first have to meet academic qualification criteria :-
~You should be passed out in 10+2/Inter Class from a recognized board/university with Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics.
~English should be one of your subjects in Inter/10+2 Class.

Marks required :-
~Your minimum marks in Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics should be 60%.
~Your minimum percentage of marks in Inter/10+2 should be 75%.

Only candidates who get passed in current year/previous year will only be eligible to take admission in BITS Pilani and will only be eligible to appear in BITSAT Common Engineering entrance test.For Example :- Candidates who have get passed in year 2103(current) or 2012(previous) will only be eligible to take admission in BITS Pilani Undergraduate courses.

BITSAT Common entrance test will include questions from four sections and total number of questions will be 150.Total duration of entrance test will be 3 hours and each questions will be of 3 marks.

Entrance Exam Syllabus and Pattern details :-

1. Paper I - Physics (40 Questions).
2. Paper II - Chemistry (40 Questions).
3. Paper III (General Ability) - English (15 Questions) and Reasoning (10 Questions).
4. Paper IV - Mathematics (45 Questions).
