If you have qualified Higher Secondary examination from a recognized board, you are eligible to take Common Proficiency Test regardless of the marks obtained in the examination.
So basically there is no percentage criteria to be considered eligible for the Common Proficiency Test conducted by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

If you are willing to take the Common Proficiency Test in the month of December 2012, you must register for it before 01-10-2012. The notification regarding the availability of examination form and its submission along with the schedule of the test will be published later by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

To crack this CPT Examination then , you require to score Minimum 50% percentage of marks in each subject .

So, If you complete 12th standard then your eligible to apply for CPT Examination .

A 12th passed candidate from any stream is eligible to apply for the exam. the exam is of objective multiple choice type.Exams can be given in two ways..either online or through paper pencil mode.Prepare well and crack the exam.
N.B.- there is negative marking.so dont answer the questions upon guess.if you dont know the answer just leave that question.

CPT is a entrance exam for qualifying CA or take admission in IPCC.
candidate should be appear or passed 12th class in commerce stream.
There is no requirement of minimum percentage in 12th class.
candidate can give this exam twice in a year.
Mostaly cpt exam held in June and December month.

There is no minimum marks for fci CPT.

It just a qualifying nature.

You have to depressed 2000 keys in 15 minute.

And solve some basic problems on excel.

It's a easy task.

CPT stands for Common Proficiency Test.
It is the entrance test for CA course.
You can give this exam after passing your 12th or after appearing in your 12th board exams.You just need to pass in your 12th exam to be eligible to give CPT.You can be of any stream.
If you want to appear for CPT,you will have to register yourself with ICAI and after that,you will have to apply for the exam before 1 month of the exam date.
The registration fee is around Rs. 6000/- and after your registration,ICAI will send you books for preparation of CPT and sample papers.
The syllabus of CPT consists of:-
1.Accountancy.
2.Merchantile Law.
3.General Economics.
4.Maths.
The exam is of 200 marks with passing marks 100.
The exam is conducted twice in a year i.e,in the month of june and in the month of december.
There is a negative marking in the exam.
So,attempt questions if you know it well.

Candidate should have minimum 55% percent marks in graduation

June Examination

June 6th, 2010; June 5th, 2011; June 3rd, 2012.

December Examination

December 5th, 2010; December 4th, 2011; December 2nd, 2012

The dates do not change except under extraordinary circumstances.

Examinations can be written either in ENGLISH or HINDI medium

CPT stands for Common Proficiency Test .
A candidate shall ordinarily be declared to have passed the Common Proficiency Test if he obtains at one sitting a minimum of 50 percent marks in the aggregate of all the four subjects/sections comprised in CPT (Examination), subject to the principle of negative marking.

It is clarified that there is no requirement of securing minimum passing marks in a subject/section of CPT examination.

There will be negative marking for each wrong answer. 1/4 (One Fourth) mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Please note that multiple darkened circles for a question will also be treated as wrong answer.
